My Review of the Movie Marathon (Mm) I attended in 250 words or less submitted to GreaterUnion.com.au. (I have no time for lengthy ones right now--sorry!) It was much more satisfying seeing the Trilogy on the big screens back to back, than individually over its three year period. Surprisingly my rating for TTT may have risen by a half. Dare I say that Jackson had /actually/ taken feedback of TTT into consideration? TROTK was a great comeback from the disappointment of TTT, matching the quality of TFOTR with flying colours. It was disturbing enough seeing Power affects everyone else but with the continuing focus on the split-personality of Smiggel (Gollum) the before, now and after to his disturbing nature is really one not to be missed. Because of my being deprived of sleep at the Trilogy's Mm, I mightn't be able to say that it was the longest eleven hours of my life without also saying I was only exhausted enough to want it to end so hastily. The increasingly trick endings (screen fading to black) of TROTK didn't help either. Since this was my first Mm, it's a lesson to carry for the next. However all did come to a pleasing closure with improved speech, acting and dialogue really showing each character's growth over this journey as well as improved story composition and structure. Less eye-rolling moments were the highlights of this experience! Breaks at the end of each movie were very generous and we were treated with both respect and professionalism, making the night run very smoothly [from my part anyway]. Kudos to the staff and security at Greater Union Liverpool!
