| Although Professional Murder Music features ex-members of Human Waste Project and Tura Satana, the band has been going since 1995, thereby predating the demise of HWP and Tura Satana. "I actually started Professional Murder Music in 1995 with a friend of mine, Roman Marisak, who had similar tastes in music and art direction," says PMM bassist/programmer/keyboard player, Jeff Schartoff. "At the time, I was still working with Human Waste Project, but now Professional Murder Music is my main focus." The Los Angeles band features Schartoff, vocalist/guitarist/keyboard player Marisak, ex-Tura Satana guitarist Brian Harrah and drummer Justin Bennett. Schartoff describes their music as "combining electronic and organic elements, developing a unique sound that is chaotic, atmospheric yet melodic. We are a high energy band, bringing a new sound and perception for those looking for something different from the underground world of heavy/electronic-based music." The band has a 6-song, self-titled EP available by mail order through their website (www.murdermusic.com) and have been talking to Coal Chamber vocalist Dez Fafara about producing some new material. "As yet, we haven't managed to get Dez to commit to a date when he can go into the studio with us," admits Schartoff, "but that's because he's busy finished the new Coal Chamber album." Professional Murder Music play regularly in the Los Angeles area and are keen to get over here as quickly as possible. "We would love to tour the UK," says Schartoff. "And as soon as a touring opportunity comes up, we'll be right over." --Malcolm Dome |
