‘Sleep well?’ Mandie asked, she’d been up for hours and if she couldn’t have a good lie in Vikki wasn’t going to either.
‘ Aw, Mandie, let me sleep,’ Vikki grumbled.
‘Ok, if you want Danny’s mates to see you in your pj’s!’ Mandie threatened.
‘You know that wouldn’t bother me, now leave me ALONE!’ Vikki wrapped herself in the covers, Mandie whipped them off her.
‘Alright, alright I’ll get up!’
Vikki walked sleepily downstairs wearing the clothes Mandie had told her to wear. She walked into the kitchen to find Amanda and Laura up and dressed, chatting to Danny and another bloke, he looked weirdly familiar, she’d seen him before but couldn’t think where, she dismissed it as she didn’t have her glasses on and it was probably one of Danny’s mates that were staying.
‘Excuse me… thanks, Danny is it ok if I make some breakfast?’
‘No, breakfast was an hour ago, you’ll have to go without.’ Danny looked deadly serious, Vikki wondered what Mandie had let herself in for. A smile broke through Danny’s face ‘Course it’s ok, what am I? Scrooge?’ Vikki laughed, she could be really gullible at times.
‘Do you guy’s want anything?’ Vikki said to everyone in the room, but meant it to Amanda and Laura who were sat stirring their lumpy porridge and simple cornflakes, which Danny had still managed to mess up.
She looked at Danny’s mate, with his baseball cap on and his head down, he still wasn’t in focus but she knew him from somewhere, he wasn’t bad looking either, well what she could see of him wasn’t. She searched for her glasses, she could hear Mandie talking to Danny.
‘Hi babes……oh, hi Nicky….have you introduced them yet?’
‘To Amanda and Lauren yeah.’
‘It’s LAURA! Why not Vikki?’
‘She was preoccupied with getting breakfast.’
‘Yeah, right,’ Mandie knew Danny too well for him to lie, he’d forgotten his manners and not intro’d them. ‘VIK-KI!’ Mandie called, Vikki came in wearing her glasses, which in itself was a miracle, to find them she had to see them and to see them she had to be wearing them.
‘Vikki this is Nicky, Nicky this is Vikki.’
‘Hi,’ Nicky smiled shyly at her and dropped his head.
‘Hi’ Vikki too, became shy. His name was Nicky and he was gorgeous! She still couldn’t shake that feeling that she’d seen him before.
‘So what’s happening today?’ Mandie asked, she was always on the go.
‘Erm.. Dunno, you’re the one who lives here, what attractions are there?’ Amanda was strangely confident.
‘Well, I thought we could take it easy today, you know, get you used to the place?’ Mandie said.
‘I coulda done that in bed, asleep.’ Vikki grumbled.
‘Pardon?’ Mandie asked, knowing full well what Vikki said.
‘I said….nothing,’ she stopped, Nicky was watching her, and she wasn’t about to slip up in front of him.
‘How about we meet up with the rest of the guy’s who are staying over and get to know each other, coz I’m not having anyone arguing in my house!’ Danny joked.
‘And I’m not having anyone farting in MY house!’ Mandie and Vikki burst out laughing, while the rest looked on bemused, Nicky looking on in awe.
