Hey, pull the car over! This is one garage sale we don't want to miss. Princess Diana plans to auction 65 of her couture gowns to raise money for her favorite charities, including AIDS research.
Diana's spokeswoman confirmed that the divorced mother of two has talked to Christie's auction house about selling the gowns, 65 in all according to the British press. The sale, slated for later this year, could raise $1.65 million. On a related note, the spokeswoman denied a report that Diana would display her heavily embroidered, poofy-sleeved wedding gown at London's Victoria and Albert Museum.
Prince Charles and Diana were married in 1981 and divorced last August. Since then, she's devoted herself to various charity causes. She recently traveled to Angola to publicize the dangers of landmines. No official word on Diana's size, but we'd estimate it as a six. So start dieting now.
