December 2, 1997 TRADEMARKING DI: Don't touch that face! Lawyers for Princess Diana's estate on Tuesday filed paperwork to register the late royal's likeness at Britain's patent office. The move is designed to keep a lid on the manufacturer of cheapo Di baubles.

ENOUGH! Princess Diana's brother has heard quite enough, thank you, at his messy divorce hearing--and he's willing to pay to make the sound go away. Earl Charles Spencer short-circuited the proceedings in Australia Monday, agreeing to fork over some $3.3 million to his estranged spouse. That should stop (for now) the stories about Spencer's womanizing past.

A RECORD RECORD? Big sales are expected as the Princess Diana double-CD tribute album went on sale today. The collection hit stores in Britain Monday.
