Siberian Tigers
The Siberian or Bengal is the largest and most powerful member of the cat family.  It inhabits the colder forested regions of eastern Russia with a few being found in northeasten China and northern North Korea.  Their primary prey, elk and wild boar, are unevenly distributed and more with the seasons, therefore, the Siberian Tigers teritory is quite large.
The Siberian's fur is longer than the other tiger sub-species and becomes paler and less defined in the winter, taking on a plush or shaggy appearance.  It's stripes are closer to brown than black and are widely spaced.
The Siberian Tigers population status is critical.  In the 1940's their numbers dipped to a low of 24.  The law of the Rssian Federation on Environmental Protection and Management gave the tiger legal protection in 1992.  With the establishment of three protected areas in Rusia to secre and enlarge their current habitat and protect them from oachers, their numbers have increased to between 360-406 today.  Although, outside of these protected areas, commercial logging and hunting of the tiger are on the increase.
You know the question, "What would you be if you were an animal?"
This is my answer, a siberian (sib) tiger.  I wish I had one as a pet, but they're near extinction, meaning there's not a chance I have to get one unless you're really, really rich. And when I mean get one, I don't mean one that is killed for its fur, I think I can wait til they out number humans to get one.
Here is a map of where the the Sib's are located
