Colleen's Bathtub Finger Paint
Supplies: 1 small pop bottle 1 sponge 1/4 cup small gravel (or stones from the fish tanks) water blue food coloring markers, paints, stickers ect.. Directions: 1. Clean out pop bottle and remove lable and set aside 2. Take sponge and cut into a little boat shape or make a oval. 3. Put stones into bottle (use a funnel made of paper to make easier) 4. add food coloring to water. 5. place sponge boat into bottle 6. Fill bottle with blue water until a little more then 1/2 full. 7. Replace cap. You might want to use some tape to keep secure. 8. Decorate bottle with markers, paints, stickers Its a raft in a bottle. When you swish it around it looks like the raft is floating down a river.
Squeeze Paint Materials 1 cup flour 1/4 cup salt 1/4 cup sugar 3/4 cup water 4 plastic bottles (detergent, shampoo, ketchup ect) food coloring constrution paper Method: Mix flour, salt, sugar and water together. Divide into bottles. Add different food color to each bottle. Put tops on tightly.
Play dough Materials: 2 cups flour 2 cup salt 4 tsp cream of tartar 2 cups water 2 Tbsp cooking oil food coloring Method: Mix four, salt and ream of tartar. Add water and oil. Stir over emdium heat until mixture forms a ball. Divide dough into four bowls. Ass a different color to each and kneas well. To prevent hardening, seal in plastic bags and store in refrigerator between use.
Finger Painting Materials: - 1/2 cup cornstarch - 1 cup cold water - 1 cup hot water - envelope of gelatin - 1/2 cup liquid soap - food coloring - 4 jars with lids - shelf paper Method: Blend 1/2 up of cold water with cornstarch. Have a big person help you add hot water and heat until boiling. Remove from heat. Mix gelatin into 1/2 cup of old water. Belnd with liquid soap and cornstarh. Divide into jars. Add coloring and refrigerate.
Stained Glass Materials: waxed paper crayons newspaper vegetable peeler iron and ironing board scissors Method: Peel off the paper on the crayons. Have a big person help you grate the crayons into a big pile. Spread some newspaper pver ironing board and place one square of waxed paper on top (waxed side up) Sprinkle some crayon shavings in center. Top with another square (waxed side down) Cover wuith more newspaper and have a big person help you press with a LOW iron until wax melts. Trim the edges and hang in a sunny window
Waxed Leaves and flowers Materials: Leaves and flowers Waxed paper Newspaper iron and ironing board scissors Method: Collect leaves and flowers. Towel them dry Cover ironing board with several layers of newspaper. Place a square o waxed paper on top, wax side up. Make flower/leaf arrangement and top with another square, waxed side down. Add more newspaper. Have a big person help you press with airon on LOW until waxed paper sticks together. Trim into coasters and placemats or string together to make window hangings.
1/3 cup Ivory liquid dish soap 1 Tbsp corn starch food coloring dixie cups brushes (optional) combine the first 3 ingredients and evenly distribute between cups. add food coloring give to kids for some good clean fun in the bath tub with or with out paint briushes. Use Ivory or you can use tear free shampoo as well, but Ivory is better and dosen't interfere with the color. Yes your tub will be a little messy, but since there is such a large amount of soap, it cleans quick.
