Once upon a time there lived a young princess named Snow White, with a complexion as white as snow and black hair. When her mother died, her father remarried an woman who became queen. Her magic mirror continually told her she was evil, while Snow White was the fairest of them all. Jealous, she ordered a huntsman to take her stepdaughter into the forest and bring back only her heart.
The sweet Snow White - who loved animals and dreaming of princes - came with the huntsman but won him over with her kind and trusting nature. He told her to escape and she sought refuge with seven dwarves for whom she did housework. Yet still the queen found her and imprisoned her in a glass coffin from which only love's first kiss could awaken her.
The dwarves killed the queen and mourned for their Snow White. Yet one day her prince came through the woods and kissed Snow White. She awoke and they lived happily ever after. |
