A Brief BIo

Boadicea was an ancient queen of a British tribe called the Iceni. Her husband was King Prasutagus and bequeathed half of his land fo the Roman emperor Nero. The rest was to be set aside for their daughters. When he died the Romans took the land for themselves and showed no respect for the royal family.
The Iceni had an uprising and sacked a Roman colony, thus beginning a rebellion and a war. The Roman governor was not able to save some areas and fled to his waiting infantry. Boadicea's forces pursued them and were defeated. When realizing this, she took poison and died in 62 A.D. She is now regarded as a heroine, despite the fact that the Romans conquered Britain.

Why I Admire Her

Boadicea stood up for her country and was willing to fight until the end...though not at risk of capture.
