BEHIND THE SCENES
So, now that we know a little bit about the Washington Drama Club and its Spring musical, "Little Shop of Horrors" (May 9 and 10, 2003!), what goes on BEHIND the scenes?  This is a fantastic question, mainly because I was the one who asked it.

THE PLANT
Okay, so we know that the play has a talking plant... but how the heck did we DO that? Well, the brilliant operator of the plant is the gorgeous and talented Katie Franklin, and the deep, almost operatic, booming voice of the plant is Cornelious Williams. The drama club is incredibly lucky and excited to have both of these individuals in the play and helping out with whatever we ask them to do! You guys rule!!! Now... "FEED ME!"

LIGTHS AND SOUND
Well, okay, so we don't know what's going on with the sound YET. But the amazing and beautiful C.J. Evans has agreed to do lights for us, and Jessica Eason has offered to help with other things. Not to mention our fabulous voice teacher, the mere 17-YEAR-OLD who lives in Union Point... BRENT! He has a name now. See you soon, you hottie, you!  Each and every one of you is valued more than you can imagine.  The whole club appreciates all the hard work you have and will put into the play!

DIRECTORS
Sue Davidson is the main director, with the assistance of Marsha Willis, for the drama club, and she does a wonderful job. While stressing the fact that she is NOT a teacher, somehow she manages to give us homework routinely, but we love her anyway because she remembers what it's like to be a teenager. AND... AND... she doesn't condescend. Which is also a nice asset.  Adults so often tend to talk down to teens, which pisses us off even more than we already are, but Sue treats us as adults and expects us to act like them... which, generally, we do. *cough* Sue, you are beautiful and talented and you put in waaaaay too much effort for li'l old us!  But THANK YOU!!! *mwah*

SET AND COSTUMES
Thank you SO MUCH to all the gracious donations from various sources like Ingles, Michael Horgan, Jeff Warrenfield, NOT Bi-Lo, etc. Now we'll have something to wear and something to look at as we belt out '80's style songs as if we are making our Broadway debuts! Also, a BIG thank you goes out to the Key Club for offering to help with set construction, along with various individuals who have offered their artistic abilities as well. It's cliche, but we really COULD NOT DO THIS WITHOUT YOU!

The drama club loves all of you and thanks you again for your contributions and support as we shakily walk onto the stage and give the performances of our lives.
