| Anne After leaving Sunnydale, she lives in LA. While working as a waitress people start disappearing and she learns that no matter where she goes she will still be the slayer, and she has a duty to help and protect people. Dead Man's Party Buffy is back in Sunnydale and no one seems to be happy that she's back. Xander almost stakes her, Joyce is still recovering from Buffy's absence, and Principal Snyder won't let her back in school. Buffy meets her mom's new friend, Pat. Then they have a welcome back party where her mom, Willow, and others express their anger and disappointment in Buffy because she decided to leave again because everyone was being so mean. Then the party turns to be for zombies who are attracted to Joyce's new Nigerian mask. Faith, Hope & Trick- Buffy and friends reconcile and go to the Bronze where they meet a unusually strong girl. Turns out there's a new slayer in town, Faith. Along with Faith, another comes to town, Kakistos. He killed Faith's watcher and now wants to kill her and Faith is too afraid of him to fight. Buffy also reveals to her friends that Angel was cured before she killed him. Later, Buffy goes to Angel's mansion and takes off the Claddagh ring, finally saying goodbye to Angel. Beauty and the Beasts Buffy runs into a savage Angel, who's back from the hell dimension, and chains him up in his mansion and visits him frequently. But when a student is mauled suspicion falls on Oz but Buffy fears it may be the savage Angel. While the scoobies try to make sure it was not Oz, Buffy keeps the secret that Angel is back. Homecoming Buffy and Cordelia battle it out for the title of Homecoming Queen. Meanwhile Mr. Trick sets up a trap for Faith and Buffy, Slayerfest '98. Instead he gets Buffy and Cordelia who must work together to save themselves and get to the dance. Band Candy Giles' old friend Ethan returns and bring some yummy magical candy. All the adults in town buy it from the high school kids who are selling it, and they start acting like children. Buffy gets Giles' help to save the adult population and the newborn baby population from Mr. Trick and Lurconis. Revelations Faith gets a new watcher, Gwendolyn Post, who is a little too interested in the Glove of Myhnegon. Buffy's friends finally learn of Angel's return and are hurt and betrayed. Lovers Walk Willow and Xander attempt to perform a spell to keep their raging hormones from raging. They're interrupted by Spike who needs a love spell to reunite him and Drusilla, who dumped him. But when Willow and Xander let their hormones take over, they're caught by Oz and Cordelia. The Wish A saddened Cordelia turns to new girl Anya for comfort. Cordelia makes a wish, without knowing about Anyanka, that Buffy had never come to Sunnydale. Turns out Anya is a vengence demon, Anyanka, who grants Cordelia's wish. Cordelia's wish comes true and turns out Buffy never did come to Sunnydale. Amends It's Christmas time in Sunnydale and Angel isn't in the Christmas mood. He is being tortured by an unspeakable evil and can't stand it. A tormented Angel is saved by the first snow in Sunnydale. Gingerbread When two kids are slain the mothers of Sunnydale form MOO, Mothers Opposed to the Occult. The mothers go to all extents to get rid of witchcraft, even burning students at the stake. But the little kids start to become suspicious, they don't have a name, and no one has heard of them. Helpless It's Buffy's eighteenth birthday and, as usual, something goes wrong. She must undergo the Cruciamentum, where her supernatural powers are taken away. When the vampire that Buffy was supposed to face escapes and takes her mother, Buffy must save her mother with no powers. Giles is fired as her watcher because he breaks the Council's orders and tells her about the Cruciamentum. |
| The Zeppo Xander's lack of slaying superpowers has him feeling painfully expendable, but his quest to prove he's cool leads him to an unforgettable night that finds him consorting with fast women, raising the dead and rolling with a dangerous crowd that could put Sunnydale in a world of hurt. Written by Dan Vebber and Directed by James Whitmore Jr. Bad Girls A taste of the wild life leaves Buffy wanting more, and while Sunnydale is being inhabited by a long-dead demon and his vampire minions, Buffy follows Faith (Eliza Dushku) into her irresponsible world of reckless slaying abandon. Meanwhile, Giles fights to maintain his sanity in the face of the pompous and stuffy new watcher (Alexis Denisof), while Willow , Xander and Oz ponder their options for life after high school. Charisma Carpenter and David Boreanaz also star. Written by Douglas Petrie and Directed by Michael Lange Consequences Buffy is haunted by the consequences of her and Faith's (Eliza Dushku) reckless behavior as she battles with Faith's apparent lack of remorse to keep her from continuing on her destructive path. Meanwhile, the new watcher Wesley (Alexis Denisof) overrides Giles' objections and instructs Buffy and Faith to get to the bottom of the recent murder, while the Mayor (Harry Groener) and Mr. Trick ( K. Todd Freeman) are thrilled by the possibility of imprisoning a slayer for the murder. Xander, Willow, Angel, and Cordelia are also in here. Written by Marti Noxon and Directed by Michael Gershman Doppelgangland Buffy and the real Willow must save the day when from the bleak alternate universe in which vampires rule Sunnydale, Willow's blood-sucking doppelganger is brought forth into this world and wreaks havoc and confusion on Sunnydale. Meanwhile, Buffy goes into full training mode so she can ace out Faith (Eliza Dushku) on the Watchers Council tests, while Faith's unholy new alliance is already paying handsome dividends. Xander, Giles, and Angel see the vampire Willow are sad that Willow was killed but really she didn't die. DUH!! With the vampire Willow in the cage Cordelia talks about how Willow stole Xander and how she "doesn't" like Xander anymore. Then she lets the vamp Willow go and she tries to kill Cordelia but Wesley(Alexis Denisof) saves her. Written and Directed by Joss Whedon Enemies Faith (Eliza Dushku) and the Mayor's (Harry Groener) secret alliance becomes an all-powerful triumvirate of evil against Buffy when they conspire to rob Angel of his soul. Meanwhile, Giles has unofficially resumed his role as Watcher, as Wesley (Alexis Denisof) is distracted from his sacred duties by Cordelia's undying-love attention. Oz, Willow, and Xander are in this episode too. Willow comforts Buffy that nothing is happening between Angel and Faith. Xander gets punched by Angel. Oz is in this episode too. Written by Douglas Petrie and Directed by David Grossman Earshot Buffy gets cut and acquires the ability to hear people's thoughts. This causes disturbances around her. First her new ability is rather enjoyable but soon it turns against her and makes her so she can't focus. She must overcome her ability and save the school from a CRAAAZY person. Written by Jane Espenson and Directed by Regis Kimble Choices Since Faith's (Eliza Dushku) turn to the dark side seems to have put the proverbial kibosh on Buffy's chances of ever getting out of Sunnydale to go away to college, Buffy decides to launch an offensive and shut down the Mayor's (Harry Groener) plans for "Ascension." Meanwhile, plans for the future are the order of the day, as Willow tries to choose among a bevy of college acceptances, Xander prepares to hit the road on a Kerouac-inspired adventure and Buffy and Angel refuse to face the insurmountable obstacles to a successful life together. Giles, Cordelia and Oz are in this episode too. Written by David Fury and Directed by James A. Contner The Prom Spring has definitely sprung in Sunnydale as talk turns to all things Prom, and while Buffy and Angel grapple with the impossibility of a future together, she is determined on keeping a villain intent on crashing the Prom from ruining her friends' perfect high school moment. Meanwhile, a chance encounter between Xander and Cordelia may have reopened their lines of communication, but he is saddled with a demonic Prom date Anya(Emma Caulfield), while Cordy only has eyes for the new watcher Wesley (Alexis Denisof). Oz and Willow go to prom together and Giles is a chaperone. Written by Marti Noxon and Directed by David Solomon Graduation Day (Part 1) As Buffy , Willow , Xander , Oz and Cordelia are ready for their long-awaited graduation day, the Mayor (Harry Groener) makes preparations for his Ascension and transformation into pure demon at the climax of his commencement address to the Class of 1999. With the fate of the world in true peril, Buffy is distracted from her purpose when Angel is weakened with a lethal poison, compliments of Faith. Then it's slayer against slayer when Buffy faces Faith (Eliza Dushku) for what may be the last time. Not really. Don't worry you Faith fans she won't die. Oh sorry for the spoilers. Written and Directed by Joss Whedon Graduation Day (Part 2) As the hours tick away to the fateful graduation of Sunnydale High School's Class of 1999, the impending doom of the Mayor's (Harry Groener) ascension and transformation into pure demon hangs heavy with Buffy. With Angel near death, Buffy must risk her own life and defy the orders of the Watchers Council in order lead a campaign to save the world.
