I can't believe I never followed up on Basil's story. The second time around for TPLO was so much easier. John was a great help and we had a wonderful dog walker. Basil was released to full activity after 16 weeks and has returned to his usual self. He still favors this leg at times and get tired a little more easily. When he walks or runs there is no limp! It's only when he's standing still that he favors it. I can accept that.

The first surgery has caused some kind of bone/ligment movement but Basil has no pain and no symptoms so we will leave it as is.

On July 11th, we added a second dog to our home. Her name is Jenny and we rescued her :) Something I've been wanting to do for a long time. You see, Basil has met three other possible dogs but they didn't get along. This time, Jenny and Basil were buddies from the start. They still play with each other all the time. Jenny is a border collie mix (with lab or beagle). She's smart, a bit stubborn, sweet and fast.

We've put them both in Doggy Day Care two days a week so they continue to socialize with other dogs. Our house is more of a mess and two dogs is definatley a handful but so far I'm enjoying it. Not sure what's going to happen when we add a child to the fray!
