Defining Madness
7.3.03
Madness is defined as that which is not normal. Because something is uncommon it is "abnormal". A person walking around with socks on their hands, underwear on their heads and claiming that there are aliens in the sky or that cows will someday be our masters, that their inabilities to walk on two legs or talk mean absolutly nothing, these people are considered to be insane. But if everyone but one person went around claiming this then the person who believed otherwise would be then be considered to be insane. Insanity doesn't exsist. Insanity is all based on individuality. Just because a person doesn't conform and has their own views on life, that doesn't make that person crazy. Even a person who kills others just for the sake of killing isn't insane. Sometimes a person kills another because they believe it is the right thing to do, others kill for reasons that only they can comprehend. It may be the wrong thing to do to to take another's life, but it doesn't border madness. To try and cure one of their insanity is to take away their individuality. And thus making them into a robot controlled by society and its views.
