EBC
Familiar Faces

Below are a collection of photographs of some of our very early members (or those connected to the club) from the late 1970's and early 1980's:
The above is a 1977 photo of a person that only some of the earliest EBC members would remember, and is of the late Charlie Sanford, who was our square-dance caller in the early days of the Florida Touring Festival.
Like Charlie, only some of the earliest EBC members would remember Naples resident John Gray and his custom bicycle (note the Harley panniers) - a regular at the Florida Touring Festival in the late 1970's.
Here's a 1977 photo of Harry, our Public Relations Chairman, presenting a plaque to two Orlando Freewheelers members, at the old Mount Dora Yacht Club.  Harry was a Purser with Pan Am at that time, and gave the EBC a bit of international flair!
The above is an early 1980's photo, I believe, of Bob and Ruth, also taken at the Florida Touring Festival's banquet.  The last I heard (in the late 1990's), they were living in Fort Myers - they were good tandem riders, and the best of friends to myself and others in the club.
This is a photo of club members Dee and Bill, at Len and Karen's wedding, May, 1981 (for more on Bill and Kathy, see "The New Generation 80's").

Dee's husband (not shown here) was a mechanic for Eastern Airlines at that time, and after his employment ended, I think they moved from Miami, their long-time home - Dee always loved Hawaii - perhaps they are living there today!
This is another photo taken at Len and Karen's wedding, this time of club members Gladys and Victor (with our old friend Max Henry in the background).

I could write all day about Victor, but will say that he and Gladys brought speed and distance to the club by way of Victor's many ultra-marathon accomplishments during the 1980's, and also introduced the club to international cycling, during Victor's Paris-Brest-Paris endurance rides.

The last time I spoke to them, they were still living in Brevard County.

Just thinking about those double and triple centuries makes me tired!
