Fail Forward to Success

Something to ponder...

SEVEN ABILITIES NEEDED TO FAIL FORWARD

(From Failing Forward by John C. Maxwell)

1) Achievers Reject Rejection Don't base your self worth on your performance. "A man is literally what he thinks..." Don't say, "I am a failure," say instead, "I missed that one," or "I made a mistake."

2) Achievers See Failure As Temporary People who personalize failure see a problem as a hole they are permanently stuck in. But achievers see any predicament as temporary.

3) Achievers See Failure As Isolated Incidents When achievers fail, they see it as a momentary event, not a lifelong epidemic.

4) Achievers Keep Expectations Realistic You have to approach each day with reasonable expectations and not get your feelings hurt when everything doesn't turn out perfectly.

5) Achievers Focus on Strengths What distinguishes winners from losers is that winners concentrate at all times on what they can do, not on what they can't do.

6) Achievers Vary Approaches to Achievement Achievers are willing to vary their approaches to problems. This is important in every walk of life.

7) Achievers Bounce Back Achievers are able to keep moving forward no matter what happens. And that's made possible because they remember that failure does not make them failures.
