This is my humble attempt at lifting some of the mystery that surrounds the Plight of the Palestinians. If we relied only on our domestic media, we'd have to believe they're terrorists who do not value human life as we do, even to the point of sacrificing their children.
I've known many Palestinians in my life. Christian or Muslim they share a common desire: to simply live without occupation, to raise their children in a safe, secure enviorment. Not to much to ask is it?
Is that oversimplifying the situation? Absolutly. Does that make my statements untrue? Absolutly Not!

As a Muslim, I would like one day to pray at the 3rd most holy site in Islam, Al Quds. As a member of a huge family, I want my Christian relatives to be able to see the towns where Jesus preached, I would also like my Jewish cousins (I have 2) to visit the Wailing Wall. How amazing it would be if we could all make these journeys together? Do I dare hope it could happen in my lifetime? So please, educate yourself to both sides of the issue. Only when we fully understand, can we begin to search for a solution for all involved. |
