"Mr. Darcy"
Home
The one that started it all...Darcy is a 1993 JC registered 15.3 bay gelding. Darcy was my first horse and he taught me so much about horsemanship and riding. After sadly outgrowing him, I put him up for sale. A lovely mover with a fabulous work ethic, Darcy jumped 3' courses with ease and scope, performed lateral movements, and had auto changes. He tackled cross country with eagerness but hacked trails on the buckle. I wasn't sure I'd be able to find a family worthy of him!  Fate intervened and Darcy is now owned by the wonderful Jaquith family in Nokomis, Florida. His young owner Mary has earned her D-3 rating with him and they are progressing steadily together. Appropriately enough, he is now known as Luckystar.
Update
Darcy's wonderful young owner Mary passed away this March in a riding accident. She was a wonderful young woman and will be greatly missed. Godspeed, Mary.
Update July 8, 2006: Pictures of Mary and Lucky schooling cross country at Fannin Hill. Looking great!
Update June 22, 2006 from Mary's mother Debbie:
"Mary and Lucky are doing extremely well. Mary took Lucky to a summer camp for a week and they both did great... I rode him the other day because my horse is stumbling dangerously and I can only walk with him. I wanted to canter and Lucky is THE PERFECT CANTER HORSE."
Darcy sold to the first family who tried him. However, I was flooded with inquiries about him, and asked to pass along information if I "knew of another one like him." I didn't, but I saw that the need was present for dependable, versatile, steady mounts for Pony Club homes. Thus I found myself in the business of training ponies.
