A Mother's Tears
It's
been four years now since you left me
Your life snatched away in the blink of an eye
I try to be strong and go on without you
But all I can do is cry.
I
think that I heard you call for me
As the car careened through the air
My heart swells with pain, maybe I could have saved you
If only I could have been there.
My
beautiful son, my first born child
Oh what could you have been thinking
What ever possessed you to ride even one mile
With someone who had been drinking.
Time
passes slowly, the hurt does not heal
No words can relieve, nor comfort be found
For this anger and sorrow I feel.
A
light has gone out, a young man has died
All dreams of the future have ended
No music or laughter or a sunset view
A small plot of ground where soft flowers lay
Is all that is left me of you.
I pray
for the time when all suffering has gone
When no one will feel such pain
To live through my days without you
And know I will see you again.
Someday
we will be together
I'll gaze into your blue eyes
I'll hold you close and stroke your fair head
And it will be tears of joy that I cry.

Whisper Wood
There
is a place called Whisper Wood
Deep in this southern land
Where the robin's song is soft and sweet
and butter flies rest in your hand
The
cottonwoods grow tall and strong
Live oaks provide cool shade
Pine trees sway in gentle breezes
And wax myrtle grows in a glade
Sing
to me O Whisper Wood
Of days of long ago
When the earth was young and fertile
when you first began to grow
Tell
me of the wonderous things
That have come and gone with the years
How you survived through all of it
The happiness and the tears
I pray
that you will always be here
A constant source of pleasure
you've made my life much brighter
It is you my lovely Whisper Wood
That I shall always treasure....
