Welcome to my pages. I am an Assistant Professor of Religion in the Department of Philosophy and Religion at Mississippi State University. In October 2004 I was named a Fulbright Senior Specialist candidate in the discipline of American (U.S.) Studies with a specialization in Religion. In April 2005 I was also named a Traditional Fulbright Scholar. I recently served as Guest Lecturer for the Gustav-Prietsch Foundation for Religious and Ideological Tolerance at Universitaet Hamburg, Germany (1999-2001) and as an instructor, with a grant from the U.S. State Department, at the Center for Cross-Cultural and Religious Studies at Universitas Gadjah Mada in Yogyakarta, Indonesia (2003). My research interests include Asian religious traditions in America, religion's role in identity construction,and issues of teaching pedagogy in the religion classroom.
