homosexuality. No, I am not upset with his initial comments during an interview that have created such a stir within the gay community and some liberal organizations including the Democratic Party and the Human Rights Campaign. You might remember. Senator Santorum stated that homosexuality is in the same class as bigamy, polygamy, incest, and adultery. He even went so far as to say that homosexual activity is a threat to society and family values. Good for him! Clearly we need more officials like him. Senator Santorums comments are so very true and in accordance with God's holy and divine Word. We need more folks to make public stands against deviate and perverted lifestyles such as homosexuality. We would do well to have more folks in the spotlight stand up and tell it like it isthat homosexual behavior is not normal and is sin. Listen to the Holy Spirit. Who changed the truth of God into the lie, and worshiped and served the created thing more than the Creator, who is blessed forever. Amen. Because of this, God gave them up to dishonorable passions, for even their females changed the natural use to that contrary to nature. And likewise, the males also forsaking the natural use of the female burned in their lust toward one another, males with males working out shamefulness, and receiving back within themselves the reward which was fitting for their error. And even as they did not think fit to have God in their knowledge, God gave them up to a reprobate mind, to do the things not right, having been filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, iniquity, covetousness, malice, being full of envy, murder, quarrels, deceit, evil habits, becoming whisperers, slanderers, God-haters, insolent, proud, braggarts, devisers of evil things, disobedient to parents, without discernment, covenant breakers, without natural affection, unforgiving, unmerciful, who knowing the righteous order of God, that those practicing such things are worthy of death, not only do them, but also approve those practicing them. (Romans 1:25-32)Literal Translation I would say the apostle Paul pretty much tells it like it is here wouldnt you agree? Not only does Paul tell us that those who commit these acts of unrighteousness shall reap a woeful reward, but he tells us that even those who stand by and not say anything is just as guilty as the one who engages in these sins. I am also upset that the Senator has been intimidated and now is back peddling from his original stance on homosexual behavior. He, as far as I know, has not apologized straightway, however he has attempted to smooth the edges by making statements such as, I intended the remarks as a legal analysis and didn't intend to comment on individual lifestyles. What does that mean??? Look Senator, you are in the majority and not the minority in this country. This is not a race issue where civil rights are indeed needed and applauded because of color, creed, or religion. What we have here is a group that wants Special rights. Here is what Elizabeth Birch, executive director of the H.R.C had to say, "Senator Santorum's remarks are deeply discriminatory and are antithetical to bringing people together. If this is how the president defines inclusion, then it clearly calls into question the depth of compassion in his conservatism. Yes Elizabeth the Bible makes it plain that Christians are to distance themselves from this type of conduct. We further are entitled and obligated to speak out against such. By the way, have these folks ever heard of free speech? Or is this amendment set aside for a select few, such as homosexuals? They would I am sure be the first ones to cry foul and whine to high heaven if they were censored in any way. So why am I labeled a bigot and a homophobe when I or Senator Santorum speaks our peace on this issue? It was also reported recently that during a commencement at St. Josephs University where he was the keynote speaker, one in eight graduates walked out before Senator Santorums keynote address. That figure was reportedly one in eight graduates. They were demonstrating their displeasure with the Senator because of his original remarks. It is refreshing to note that although the Senator was booed, he was also applauded by others that supported him. And it is further noted that although there were demonstrations outside deriding Senator Santorum, there were more demonstrations in support of him. On another note of interest, it has been brought to light that this interview and article were done just before the Iraq conflict. The article was conveniently put on hold by AP until after the war ended. Not only this but it was not widely reported that Senator John Kerry's presidential campaign manager just happens to be married to the reporter who interviewed Senator Santorum. And so we must wonder about the true agenda of these creative manipulators. Deception and lying is actually just as bad as homosexual behavior according to the Word of God. We will not belabor the point however. And so Senator Santorum, be not afraid to tell the truth. You have many Americans that stand with you on this important issue. We do want to preserve moral family values. We want to continue to base this country on Biblical principles. Yes Senator, We are all called to love one another, even people we disagree with, even people who hate us for what we believe, as you stated at the St. Joseph Commencement. Yes Senator, we are to love one another. It's called love the sinner, hate the sin. But sometimes we do this by calling a spade a spade and telling it like it is. A sin by any other name is still a sin! If it walks like a duck, and quacks like a duck heyits a duck! I appreciate Senator Santorums remarks. I stand behind him 100%. |
