Moonbeam

A moon beam visited me last night
It danced across the room
I watched with childish glee
A piece of silver moon

It danced and spun across the wall
And on my face as I lay there
It kissed my lips and brushed my cheek
And haloed in my hair

It ran up my arm
It landed in my hand
A little voice said to me
"Catch me if you can"

I felt delight, with moonbeams flight
A blessing from above
An angel sent it to me
Filled with heavens love

Memory
Dedicated to my grandmother

I close my eyes in memory
I climb upon her ample lap
Vanilla extract her perfume
Wise blue eyes
White soft hair
Grandmother dear.

Safety in her embrace
A kiss and a squeeze
Hours of learning
Happy at her knee

Cottage flower garden
Herbs next to the door
Making fresh bread and pies
Long walks.wed explore

Sewing dresses
Crochet and knitting too
Such talented hands
Make happy dreams come true

Always a cheering word
Lovely face with pixie grin
A loving heart and hugging arms
Love shining from within

Folds Of My Soul
Dedicated to my mother

I see how peaceful beauty slumbers
She lies quiet, still
Somehow she knows its me
A small smile

Her face is like mine
But softer
Hair whiter
Eyes blue
Mine brown
She glows
My heart aches

I hold her
In the folds of my soul

Circle Of Life

Journey thru life
whoever you are
seeing, learning, changing...BE

A tiny mote
an instant life
time grows to maturity

We enter life
we struggle through
shaped by our surroundings

A mothers love
a gentle touch
secure in family wholeness

Children playing
family praying
our souls and spirits nurtured

We learn, we grow
some fail - some soar
challenged in many ways

Nature's beauty
lifts our hearts up
bidden caretakers are we

Gentle kindness
in every step
a wish for the worlds mankind

Lofty dreams still
our hope beats strong
what ere happens, right the wrong

When all else fails
and despair sets in
raise your eyes, just pray again

He will listen
hears every word
Hold His hand ... Circle of life

Distant Shores

The sea recedes
and leaves behind
the sands of distant shores

With songs and tales...
of broken hearts
and the legends
that they bore

Fantasy and mysteries
and castles in the sky
of love and war... how women wait
for the men who fight and die

The sea recedes
and leaves behind
its sands of distant shores
all is one as life is shared
and can be nothing more

Still Believing

I retain the tears of childhood in my eyes
Yearning for things I will never find on earth
It is a battle with the past obstacles...
that sometimes keeps me from You

Disappointments, danger, and grief
My sorrow is the mystery that surrounds me
Doubt tortures me
Uneasiness never lets me rest

Hate does not create...
it destroys self and others
Teach me to love and forgive
Protect me from lethargy of soul

Give me unshaken faith
For after the trivial view of this earthly life
I shall see the unlimited horizons

Ray Of Mercy

We place happiness
on earthly success
Sorrow and anxieties
oppress us

We cry in despair
We wander too far
Our sins hide the
face of truth

Cold heart numbed
Bitter tears flow for
our own selfs' soul
Send a ray of mercy
Let our hearts forgive

One More Tomorrow

If we had one more tomorrow
Would we walk in the woods
Hold hands and feel content
Would we say all the things
That needed saying
Would we feel a wanting

If we had one more tomorrow
Would we see sunshine
Clouds with warming rain
Would we smell fresh flowers
Feel the ocean's spray
Taste the salt

If we had one more tomorrow
Would our differences
Be resolved
Would anger melt away
Would spoken words tell
Of love and forgiveness
Would there be no tears of pain
Would we sleep with peaceful smiles

If we had one more tomorrow
Could we live these words?

Beezer's Strut

I wrote this about a terrific cat I had named Beezer

The morning sun came shining thru
It made a puddle on the floor
There he came, my Beezer cat
Struttin' thru the door

In his mouth he softly held
A furry little mouse
He turned around put it down
And strutted from the house

The little mouse ran in fright
As my Beezer cat looked on
His heart gentle like
A summer's breeze
Playful as a song

He never hurt a single thing
No ifs ands or buts
Ain't no cat like my boy
When he does the
Beezer Strut

Her Praise

Her praise is scored
By quill and pen
She's broken the hearts
Of many young men

Prose and poems
Written, full of pain
Breaking their hearts
Again and again

Her beauty, her smile
Scored in song
Her loving ways
A heart gone wrong

She flew thru life
At lightning speed
Loving them all
Filling her need

Her praise is scored
By quill and pen
The muse of poets
Heartbreaker of men
