God's Earth - A Sonnet
The waterfall cascades down mossy rocks
As evening sunlight shines upon its fall
Beyond the mountains craggy summit line
An eagle soars, as thermals catch its wings
And gilt edged cirrus clouds amalgamate
A sign of clement changes in the air
From far below in valleys pasture, deep
The low of cattle wafts upon the breeze
Towards the East a canopy of leaves -
Of shades of bottle green and autumn gold
And Westward, tween the boughs of oaken wood
A momentary glimpse of Oceans shore
I contemplate this panoramic view
And now behold the beauty of Gods earth

To Disbelievers
If I was Gods only child
And he my only teacher
I would not forget what he has taught
I would become a preacher
I would follow in His path
And in unassuming fashion
I would teach the ways of our dear Lord
Of His friendship and compassion
If answers to questions, that I gave
Did not satisfy the curious
And if an explanation was desired
I would assure they were not spurious
And simply add that what I have said
Of empathy and love
Is what the good Lord said to me
When he looked down from above
Dont just take my word for it
It is not a made up story
Why not ask Him, for yourself
Hes up there in all His Glory!

Words Of Comfort
To those in need of reassurance, in times of grief
Let not winds of time erase your memories
Like windswept sands upon a lonesome beach
Loved-ones, now forever sleeping
In tranquility they rest in Gods own care
Nor shouldst the clouds silently a-passing
As daytime then turns slowly into night
And all coloured photographic memories
Become but darkened negatives in your anxious mind
And if morning mists appear ephemeral
Fading, as does the Springs last flower
Think not of melancholic sadness
But of the joyous days gone by
And when treasured thoughts of love are fickle
And appear as distant shadows of your mind
Let not your silent anguish sadden you
When the time is near to join your love on high
If you believe God has forsaken you -
Drawn his blinds unto your visions
Pause awhile and look to the heavens
And you will know Hes there
Allow Him then to turn the switch
That will illuminate your eyes
And you will see the wondrous sights
When God turns on His lights

God's Seasons
Spring, I ask, why do you return
With your display of seasons beauty
Is it so, that ever, you must do your duty
And of Gods commands we learn?
Summer, why do you paint the sky of blue
Then warm our sandy beaches
And do as God in His own way teaches
So you can then, his vows renew?
And Autumn, why do your leaves turn golden
Then fall upon the ground
Have you then Gods commands now found
And unto Him, beholden?
Winter, do we always have to freeze
When the other seasons are now gone
Is it that their work is done
And we must now pray on bended knees?
