RECOGNIZING EVIL

Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheeps
clothing, but inwardly they are ravenous wolves.
You will know them by their fruits. Do men gather
grapes from thorn bushes or figs from thistles?
Even so, every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad
    tree bears bad fruit.
Therefore by their fruits you will know them.
Not everyone who says to Me, Lord, Lord, shall
enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the
will of My Father in heaven.
Many will say to Me in that day, Lord, Lord, have
we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in
your name, and done many wonders in Your name?
    And then I will declare to them, I never knew you;
depart from Me, you that work iniquity!
    MATTHEW 7:15-17, 20-23

"Behold, I am against those who prophesy false dreams,"
says the Lord, and tell them, and cause My people to err
by their lies and by their recklessness. Yet I did not
send them or command them; therefore they shall not profit
this people at all, says the Lord.
    JEREMIAH 23-32

They profess to know God, but in works they deny
Him, being abominable, disobedient, and disqualified
    for every good work.
    TITUS 1:16

Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits,
whether they are of God; because many false
prophets have gone out into the world.
By this you know the Spirit of God: Every spirit
that confesses that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh
is of God, and every spirit that does not confess that
Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is not of God. And
this is the spirit of the Antichrist, which you have
heard was coming, and is now already in the world.
    1 JOHN 4:1-3

And when they say to you, Seek those who are mediums
and wizards, who whisper and mutter, should not a people
seek their God? Should they seek the dead on behalf of
    the living?
To the law and to the testimony! If they do not speak
according to this word, it is because there is no light
    in them.
    ISAIAH 8:19-20

Stand fast therefore in the liberty by which Christ has
made us free, and do not be entangled again with a yoke
    of bondage.
    GALATIANS 5:1

A good tree does not bear bad fruit, not does a bad tree
    bear good fruit.
For every tree is known by its own fruit. For men do not
gather figs from thorns, nor do they gather grapes from
    a bramble bush.
    LUKE 6:43-44

For God is not the author of confusion but of peace, as in
all the churches of the saints.
    1 CORINTHIANS 14:33

God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and
of love and of a sound mind.
    2 TIMOTHY 1:7

He who sins is of the devil, for the devil has sinned from
the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was
manifested, that He might destroy the works of the devil.
    1 JOHN 3:8

BUILDING YOUR FAITH

Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the
    evidence of things not seen.
By faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the
word of God, so that the things which are seen were not
made of things which are visible.
But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he
who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is
a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him
By faith he forsook Egypt, not fearing the wrath of the
king; for he endured as seeing Him who is invisible.
    HEBREWS 11:1, 3, 6, 27

That the genuineness of your faith, being much more precious
than gold that perishes, though it is tested by fire, may be
found to praise, honor, and glory at the revelation of Jesus
Christ, whom having not seen you love. Though now you do
not see Him, yet believing, you rejoice with joy inexpressible
and full of glory, receiving the end of your faith - the
    salvation of your souls.
    1 PETER 1:7-9

For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith
to faith; as it is written, The just shall live by faith.
    ROMANS 1:17

So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the
    word of God.
    ROMANS 10:17

Have I not commanded you? Be strong and of good
courage; do not be afraid, nor be dismayed, for the
Lord your God is with you wherever you go.
    JOSHUA 1:9

If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who
gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will
    be given to him.
But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for he
who doubts is like a wave of the sea driven and tossed
    by the wind.
For let not that man suppose that he will receive
anything from the Lord; he is a double-minded man,
    unstable in all his ways.
    JAMES 1:5-8

For with God nothing will be impossible.
    LUKE 1:37

He did not waver at the promise of God through
unbelief, but was strengthened in faith, giving glory
to God, and being fully convinced that what He had
promised He was also able to perform.
    ROMANS 4:20-21

    We are hard pressed on every side, yet not crushed;
we are perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but
not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed -
always carrying about in the body the dying of the
Lord Jesus, that the life of Jesus also may be mani-
    fested in our body.
    2 CORINTHIANS 4:8-10

What then shall we say to these things? If God is for
us, who can be against us?
    ROMANS 8:31

But you, beloved, building yourselves up on your
most holy faith, praying in the Holy Spirit, keep
yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy
of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life.
    JUDE 20, 21

We walk by faith, not by sight.
    2 CORINTHIANS 5:7

DEALING WITH LUST

    Now therefore, listen to me, my children;
Pay attention to the words of my mouth:
Do not let your heart turn aside to her ways,
    Do not stray into her paths;
For she has cast down many wounded,
And all who were slain by her were strong men.
Her house is the way to hell,
Descending to the chambers of death.
    PROVERBS 7:24-27

I say then: Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not ful-
fill the lust of the flesh.
For the flesh lusts against the Spirit, and the Spirit
against the flesh; and these are contrary to one another,
so that you do not do the things that you wish.
    GALATIANS 5:16-17

No temptation has overtaken you except such as is
common to man; but God is faithful, who will not
allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able,
but with the temptation will also make the way of
escape, that you may be able to bear it.
    1 CORINTHIANS 10:13

Put off, concerning your former conduct, the old man
which grows corrupt according to the deceitful lusts,
and be renewed in the spirit of your mind, and put
on the new man which was created according to God,
in true righteousness and holiness nor give place
    to the devil.
    EPHESIANS 4:22-24, 27

Do you not know that your bodies are members of
Christ? Shall I then take the members of Christ and
make them members of a harlot? Certainly not!
Or do you not know that he who is joined to a har-
lot is one body with her? For the two, He says,
    shall become one flesh.
But he who is joined to the Lord is one spirit with
    Him.
Flee sexual immorality. Every sin that a man does is
outside the body, but he who commits sexual immoral-
ity sins against his own body.
Or do you not know that your body is the temple
of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have
from God, and you are not your own?
For you were bought at a price; therefore glorify
God in your body and in your spirit, which are Gods.
    1 CORINTHIANS 6:15-20

Do not lust after her beauty in your heart,
nor let her allure you with her eyelids.
For by means of a harlot
    A man is reduced to a crust of bread;
and an adulteress will prey upon his precious life.
    PROVERBS 6:25-26

My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into
various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith
    produces patience.
But let patience have its perfect work, that you may
be perfect and complete, lacking nothing.
    JAMES 1:2-4
