Our Trip to Winton, September 2004 |
A few months ago, my brother-in-law Craig got a job as Stock Inspector for the vast Winton area. He, my sister Judy and daughters Amy & Stacey now live in Winton, a town of 900 people in Queensland's outback. So my three kids and I travelled by QR's "Spirit of the Outback" train to Longreach and then the final couple of hours by coach (a 1420 km trip, taking 25 hours - further away than Canberra!). Here are some photos of our trip. |

Adam and the "Tree of Knowledge" in Barcaldine. (The tree where the roots of the Labour Party can be traced back to, during the great shearers' strike for better conditions.) |
