Other Uses for Titanium
Titanium is a widely used metal.  Titanium is normally used where other metals like aluminum and steel come short.  Titanium is as strong as steel but weighs 45% less and it is 60% heavier than aluminum but twice as strong.  As you can see titanium is used where steel and aluminum come up short.
Titanium has another advantage over other materials.  It not only has great break reistance and light weight but it can also withstand very high temeratures without fatigue.  Below are some examples of where we use titanium today other than mountain bikes.

-The areospace program: Because of its weight, strenght and ability to withstand high or low temperatures.
-Titanium Paint: Is an excellent reflector or infrared observing, used in solar observatories where heat causes poor viewing conditions.
-Medical Field: Used in joint replacement parts such as hip ball and sockets.
