Firstly by changing the proxy settings in your browser (internet explorer, netscape navigator) you can bypass those annoying and intrusive filtering systems by changing the proxies, think of it as taking a different route out of the school without security, simple... until "the institution" finds out and blocks it on the new windows machines :-P yuk
ibooks- and for our first trick open internet explorer and select preferences form the explorer menu
Scroll down the box on your left in the window that pops up and select proxies under the network heading.
Then click the settings buttons across from the web proxy tick box
Replace the port number and ip addresses supplied to ones displayed below
WARNING: as a common rule return the proxy settings to what they were, this requires remembering what was there before you replacing it. Wallah we have lift off - now where was that site they blocked me from looking at before?
