| RE: Voluntary Work at the Financial Services of GCHSD, Queensland Health I am delighted to provide Ms Eva Ballai with a reference. I have had the pleasure of working with, studying with, and knowing Ms Ballai since 1996. Since August of 2001, Ms Ballai has shown her commitment to administration by enthusiastically voluteering to assist in the Business Manager role. Ms Ballai has worked with FAMMIS reports to complete cashflow projections. She is able to work autonomously and solve problems. When working with Ms Ballai, I was impressed with her excellent communication skills. In particular, she has the ability to defuse volatile situations, calm anxious patients and relatives, and smooth out other health care professionals ruffled feathers - this skill will be a highly valuable asset in the management positions to which Ms Ballai aspires. Ms Ballai methodically assesses and co-ordinates clinical work. Her negotiation skills are a natural part of her routine when delegating work. as a professional who has worked up from the lowest levels of nursing, Ms Ballai has a unique insight into the intimate workings and culture of healthcare settings. She has demonstrated ability in communicating effectively with superiors, subordinates and peers. Ms Ballai's strength of spirit is demonstrated time and again. After her European qualifications were not recognised in Australia, Ms Ballai started nursing from scratch and re-entered tertiary education. She has worked up from the lowest levels of nursing while continuing to study and serve the ethnic community of the Gold Coast. Ms Ballai's academic success is a result of dedication and commitment to her goal. her spirit is an inspiration to others, including myself. Ms Ballai's attitude communicates confidence, maturity and competence. She is a diplomatic manager, with a commitment to improve the health of the community and the efficiency of the healthcare organisation. I have no hesitation in recommending Ms Ballai as a flexible employee, a capable manager and a successful student with a commitment to professional development and continuing education. Ms Ballai has the diplomatic skills, the strength of character and the academic ability to succeed in the field of healthcare management. Yours truly, Ms Debbie Gordon, RN, BN, Grad. Cert.PHM Business Manager, Queensland Health Gold Coast, 16/10/2001. |
