Deck Construction
*Tips and Hints*
One of the most interesting aspect of the Yu-Gi-Oh! Card game is to  construct a personal deck. Because of the limitless combinations of cards, and their interaction with each other, card deck construction becomes a vital part of Dueling. Obviously, the main goal in deck construction is to build a deck that is capable of defeating other types of decks. Here are some basic steps and hints to make a killer deck:
1. Basic Theme of your deck.

The first thing you need to decide is what kind of deck do you want to make; whether you want the deck to center around a particular race, or maximize the utilization of a particular card, or center around a combination that you think is effective.

2. Necessary Cards for you deck.

After you have decided on the basic them of your deck, you need to add the cards that will maximaze the effectiveness of your theme as much as possible, using these main card types: Monster, Monster Removal, Magic, Trap, Magic/Trap Removal and Card Drawing. In deciding what specific cards to use, you must attempt to maintain balance among them For every card you chose, ask yourself how it lives with your theme, and whether it helps or hurts you strategy in the long run.
3. Test, Test, and Test!

Even if you think you have discovered the greates strategy of all time, and assembled a killer deck that simply can not be beat, you still need to test your deck several times to see if the cards in it are working fine. Remember, your opponent has a strategy too, and you can never be sure that your strategy will work against your opponents. After the duel, you need to objectively examine how your deck performed, what the weak points of your deck are, and whether your main cards are easily accessible

4. Adjust.

Using your play-test as reference, adjustment your deck to address its weaknesses, or intensify its strengths. Add or remove cards as necessary and/or add a side deck according to the deck type you are weak at.

Last but not Least...Don't Forget the BASICS!!!

Always have a central theme for your deck (type, central monster, etc,). A deck with all of the strongest cards is basically useless if the different cards don't support or compliment each other. Use the most effective card for your purpose.

IMORTANTLY...

Be careful about the deck size. Your deck should be focus between 40 to 45 cards; any deck bigger than 50 cards is TOO big. The number of magic/trap cards and the number of monsters in your deck should be well balanced out too. Remember you can always use drawing magic cards, such as Angelic Donation, or Pot of Greed.
