| Current and Suggested Conservation Efforts |
| Beacause the Penguins are in no real danger of extinction, no real conservation efforts are in place. Previous efforts to restore the Penguins' habitat have been completely successful and the populations are now stable. I would suggest that in order to prevent a later endangerment, law be put in place that help to eliminate road crossing incidents. As more people begin to populate Australia, the roads will unavoidably become more crowded, causing more incidents. Knowing that the Penguins are nocturnal, efforts should be made to restrict night usage of those roads that go through the Penguins' habitat. In addition, legislation restricting development of coastal land should be firmly in place to avoid a replay of the past. go back |
