Profile: Naoko Akagi was the Head Researcher for Gehirn, the organization that existed before NERV was created. She is responsible for the creation of the MAGI computer system that is currently in use by NERV and other organizations around the world. The MAGI system is composed of three supercomputers programmed with different ways of thinking, and Naoko's personality, divided into that of a woman, a mother, and a scientist, is the one that is programmed into the MAGI machines. She was also responsible for most of the initial research regarding the Evangelions and the results of the Second Impact. However, she was the only one not to transfer over to NERV when Gehirn was disbanded. She is also the mother of Ritsuko Akagi, the one who would eventually become Head Researcher for NERV.
