Steam

the faucet whines

resists

then relents

steamy-hot and bubbly

water fills the basin

breathe

sleeves are shed

part the skin

and plunge them in

grin as clear

turns to red

skin white like

antiseptic porcelain

water rushes

vapor hangs motionless

squeeze
