Biography
Randy Tolsma debuted in David Hodson's Supergard
Dodge by winning the Bud Pole for the 1999 season
opening race at Miami-Homestead Speedway ...
Tolsma didn't win a race during the team's first
season but, with a pair of fifth-place finishes among
10 in the top-10, Tolsma would seem to be a strong
championship contender in 2000 ... as the
teammate to '99 Bud Pole champ (and fourth-place
finisher) Stacy Compton, Tolsma is part of a one-two
punch for Impact Motorsports ... he finished 11th in
NCTS points ... in 1998, Tolsma appeared headed
for a top-10 championship finish until
mid-September, when his previous employer, Xpress
Motorsports, elected to end its NCTS program ...
Tolsma picked up several substitute drives and salvaged a 14th-place
championship finish ... ...Tolsma beat Compton at Bakersfield CA in 1997 to
score his first NCTS victory ... Tolsma comes from an open-wheel racing
background ... he completed his Indianapolis 500 rookie test in 1996 ... during
the early and mid-1990s, Tolsma competed in U.S. Auto Club Silver Crown, sprint
and midget races ... he won a USAC national midget race at Indianapolis
