Joe Ramey
         Biography
Joe Ramey was born on Friday October 13th 1967 in Norcross, GA. Joe began his musical journey in 1983 when his father purchased him his first drum set. Joe (16 years old at the time) started taking drum lessons but stopped them when he had learned the basics. Joe wanted to learn mostly on his own to keep his playing style original and not to be too infuenced by any outside force. The first band Joe was in was a 60's through 80's cover band called Razor Blade Breakfast. They covered everyone from Hendrix to Van Halen. About a year later Joe joined up with a band called The Extremes. This was a more eclectic band that played a little jazz, blues and rock all mixed together. Unfortunatly The Extremes parted ways shortly after graduation from high school when the members all went in different directions musically and geographically. Joe was soon picked up by a band called Stranger and found a fast friendship with keyboardist Lloyd Cooper. Lloyd taught Joe an appreciation for electronic music and the art of programming synths and drums. Joe and Lloyd also wrote a few songs together including Bed Of Roses which appears on EuroVision's On Fire album. During the early 90's Joe quit performing for a while to focus on his family and songwriting. During this time was when he came up with the idea for starting a band of his own; EuroVision. The Euro part came from Joe's love of the 80's new wave scene and all of the european artists that sprung up at that time. The Vision part was about his musical vision and what he hoped to create in the years to come. In the late 90's he decided to search for a vocalist that could really give his songs life. He went through quite a few in the process some worked out longer than others but in the end none really seemed to fit his vision. In 2001 had one of his many short lived vocalists record a song called No Way which later earned an honorable mension in the John Lennon Songwriting contest. In July of 2002 Joe placed an ad in a local newspaper once again in search of another vocalist. One of the people who answered the ad was Michael Allred. Joe scheduled an audition for later that week. Joe said of the audition "Mike was the 2nd or 3rd audition to come in. He perfomed and played some of his own songs for me and WOW, I was instantly a fan. I called him back a day later and offered the vocalist spot to him, he accepted and neither of us has looked back since."  Official Note: December 2004 Mike Allred officially left EuroVision, stating creative differences.
