MOTM Ronaldinho
Chelsea faced Liverpool for the second time in the cup, earlier in the season Chelsea beat Liverpool in the group stages, but both teams met again. Liverpool got off to a great start, Frank Lampard and Steven Gerrard both hit the post in the first 10mins, Ronaldinho was denied also by the post on 17mins from his free kick which curled around the wall. Samuel Eto'o was first to score on 27mins with a superb header from Deco's cross, Eto'o was unmarked at the back post and neatly placed the ball into the Liverpoo net. Chelsea kept good possession after the goal until a great counter attack from Liverpool, which lead to Gerrard one-on-one with Cech. Hyypia won the ball in defense passed it out to Carlos Alberto who placed a great thru ball for Gerrard to run onto and slot past Cech. Chelsea and Liverpool looked evenly matched for the rest of the game but one of the greatest players in the world gave Chelsea the lead on 83 minutes, Ronaldinho got another free kick chance after Kompany fouled Gudjohnson on the edge of the area, Ronaldinho this time scored with a furious strike into the top corner, one of the best goals this season.

MOTM - Fletcher
PSV have done extremely well in the cup, they faced a hard group and some tricky games in the knockout stage. However, Bayern Munich got straight off the mark, Claudio Pizarro won the ball straight from kick-off and after some quality 1 touch passing between the midfield, Darren Fletcher sent Shevchenko through on goal by chipping the ball over the top, Shevchenko chested the ball down and struck on the volley, as the ball then curled into the top corner leaving Carlo Cudicini standing still with no chance at all. PSV tried hard to get back into the game but Bayern held on. Wes Brown was denied from a corner hitting the cross bar with his header, Vicente also had his volley cleared off the line by Darren Fletcher. Darren Fletcher seemed to be all over the place defending and attacking, he struck a superb shot that was curling in but Carlo Cudicini managed to punch it over the bar. PSV nearly pulled it back in the dying minutes but Dennis Bergkamp sliced his shot wide on an open goal when Oliver Kahn was scrambling on the floor after parrying a shot from Peter Crouch.
