The Gaelic Sports Club

The Gaelic Sports Club of Luxembourg ASBL was founded in 1978 and is affiliated to the Cercle Sportif of the European Communities.

The aims of the club are to foster interest in Gaelic games and to assist its members by providing indoor training facilities for weekly fitness sessions - a facility which is essential for the long winter period experienced in Luxembourg - and by securing adequate pitches for playing matches with visiting teams.

Its main activities are :

1. The Annual Gaelic Football 7-a-side competition held in Luxembourg in May, which involves participating teams from several far flung centres.

2. Gaelic sporting activities top mark St.Patrick's Day.

3. the Poc Fada na hEorpa competition.

4. the arranging of a major annual hurling match at a town or city which has noteworthy cultural and historic links with Ireland.

The club co-operates with all friends of gaelic Games on the continent.
