Each national central bank (NCB) of the Eurosystem was assigned the following individual code letter, which is used as a prefix to the serial number on all the banknotes for which an NCB has commissioned production.

* Uncirculated euro banknotes issed by the Banque Centrale du Luxembourg cuurrently bear the code letter of the NCB's of those countries in which the banknotes for luxembourg are produced
