MSEB Pune (India)

 Jonogon,

Ill always cherish the time spent, being involved Su-Deep-ly with a core team of 10 guys handling the work of Sau-Men, which according to many, waS umanly impossible. For the last 6 months, the Roy-al MSEB Sarkar-i office had become part office and Part Ho-me, firing column and Rao fetches, on difficult Data r-ecords, late into the night, working hard to make our Bhartiya software, world-class. We had our successes and our failures. Kabhi haar thi, kabhi Ari-jeet. For the Subha-anchoring PwC team to have demonstrated su-Ch ander-standing of the system, to Shek har out of its various testing phases, deserves praise. Even as we faced the pleasant, as well as the Harsh ali-terations of a consultants life, we came home wiser, from each Deys client interaction.

You know, how, Sam bits and bytes of memories stay resident in the mind long after the events have happened, about trips, dams, Sinha-gad, giving us opportunities to discover the long lost Brat in ourselves. There were the Priti moments and the not-so-pretty ones, the heKKtic ones and the not-so-hectic ones, most of the times we had the bugs cornered, but sometimes the bugs Konnur-ed us, when our software demonstrated Sam eer-ie and unexplained behaviour. Par mann mein hai Biswas ke Abhi door nahi who Suboh, jab hogi hamari jeet.

But even though yeh dil hai ke Mane naa, its time to say Au Revoir.

All the best to the whole team.

AFL Bombay (India)

In designing a system with enough complexity to me-kh a lid blow up over any sane mind, the challenges were quite clear. Ca-n it in-clude, both ra-pid application development with a focus on quality. It was critical to realise that every chota-sa chin-tu sa requirement added at a later stage can increase the cr-ash fak-tor substantially. Which is why it was important to answer questions like 'A-m i tali-ying my design with the requirements',  'Am I tabh-ulating my findings', 'Hope I'm on schedule', 'God! I need to learn Math ur-gently (what???)'. This helped us wade kar-efully through the long and complex process of interfacing m-an and machine. And vee nu right from day one, that we aar in damn good shape.

Our ideas wouldn't go f-ar if it weren't for the hard work that went in. But hectic schedules, also meant that we forgo-t anveersaries & birthdays, and saw many a festival (say Diwali or Se khri-smas) pass us by.

There were times when we had our Joy dip-ped in sorrow, when all of a sudden, the same er-rors resurfaced in our oracle Datta-base, gripped us in its deep ali-gator-like vice and drove us in-Sen. Gave us the feeling - I'd be better of in sam rat infested jungle, than fix these errors. But in du-e course of time, vi dya-bolically located the problem areas, vi pin-pointed the bugs,  and gaut em eliminated with pana-che, than-x to a nu pam-anently applicable debugging process which was fu-n and it a-lways worked.

But who can change destiny's lekha-jokha, bcoz ultimately, hom i-s where the heart is. And at the end of the day when the Batti goes off and our new system makes it Deb-ut, I'm sure we'll come out Aparajit a-nd victorious and the users will have a lot of Santosh, using it.

All the best to the team.

CEEDS Washington D.C (USA)

LaSt evening, as I was recapitulating the CEEDS journey so far, a lot of thoughts crossed my mind. 'It is going to be a tough journey' is what people had said and they would continue to Warn er-nestly, but nothing would have Robbed or diluted the enthusiasm put in by team members from both sides.

When a system has been designed with so much Kare 'n affection, you would've expected the original team to have stuck around to see it go live. But destiny had other things in store.

And rea-lly, foR a java project of this complexity, there were times when we felt, we were stuck up in a Jam especially during the analysis and design discussions.

The Same ergonomics applied to the UI design as well that involved the latest JSP/Jaova/EJB technology.

We were privileged to have Seen thia-trical performances by the saMurais from various teams on several occasions, beKaus hiked up complexity does introduce such challenges.

Barring a few 'technically infeasible' bugs, aS u dip targetted and prioritized TPRs into the resolved category, with a strong Will and a 'cAn-and-will-do' attitude, I am pleased to see that the project activities are still going strong. Helping the teaM azum (assume) darkness is a fleeting phase.

All the best to all teams involved.

Till we meet again. Au revoir.

Sameer

DELTA Manchester (UK)

TouCHING SANd castles before they are built, can CHANge the entire perspective, leaving NO ELbow room to regain lost ground, in the NICK of time. All you can do then, is to be there JUST INtime to PICK ARDent bits of the FLOWERy memories, whiCH RISkily enough are just sufficient to get you across the rough sea till the final MORCEL LAsts. But it is beyond the power of homo-sapIANs, to ARGHYA(argue) with destiny. AND You know, as Big Brother up there is watching, the lucKIER ANd Fortunate Survivors will move on, with the SAME ERnest attitude, to see another day.

So till our paths cross again, its au revoir to U all.

Ciao.

FTGMP Bangalore (India)

The FTGMP (Fantastic Time Generating Multiple Presentations) course saw every Tommy, Dick and Hari slogging it out. There is no doubt that the debate of less (10 weeks) versus MOR IS eternal and hence we aRE JIttery about the future. But we did undersTAND ONe thing. Each participant, equipped with a 'cAN-AND-will-do' attitude, can now respond to challenges like a well trained jacKAL EEMmidiately.

The attempts to COMMAND ERnest understanding of the MAD HUstling that the world would subject one to, were dissected.

These introspection sessions proved that those who SIN HAve to pay for the SAME ERrors later on. As the SUN ILluminates the heaVEN, KATastrophical events will vanish and help your auRA MESH with the divine.

The marketing sessions saw the prof fetCH AND RIKArd (record) umpteen examples from real life to prove a point. He also SANK ARtistic hypotheses with sharp counter-arguments. Another aspect of creative advertising was that A ROAR A day keeps the competitors away and makes HE-MAN THink twice before messing with your firm.

The Yoga training gave us the ability to activate our innermost CHAKRA, WORTHY of every ones praise. We can now explain the phenomenon of our anger and RAJE SHooting up frequently.

To conclude I guess it wasn't a bad decision after all to forGO PALtry savings to attend the course.

Now at the end of the course, we feel the relief, exactly like AN ANT HAppens to feel...satisfied, after a mission successfully accomplished. Perennially from now, Dec to JAN, ARDHANginis (wives) of participants will be proud of their accomplishments.

Congrats folks for surviving the experience.

DBS (Development Bank of Singapore Singapore

As the Sun darkens on another heKKtic day (it's close to 1 am), after sending the final status report, I'm excited to recapitulate the accomplishments over the last couple of months. As the team got down to pLay, Tinkering with the complexities of the various packages. The overall Vision, plus the strategy was clear from the outset, meeting the challenges head-on and Systematically. We had to be careful not to repeat the Same errors by leveraging and learning from the earlier iterations and experience.

For most onsite team members who were far away from Holm, bergerKing and MacDonalds met their nutritional needs. Extrapaulating and mitigating the risks formed the key criteria that aided in making Kwantum jumps, going beyond expectations and wrapping the entire exercise rapidly.

The aggressive deadlines, called for extraordinary analytical fLair, quenching the customer's need for large amounts of statistical data within apparently impractical timeframes. How the packages operate and function, points unambiguously to the project objective and hence defines the scope. In order to record SME interactions, we explored various media formats (.wav, .avi), sheking the foundation of conventional data capture methods.

While the team applies the finishing Touches and continues to paint the FP canVas, anthropological remains of the dissected enhancements have been preserved in the Team Room.

As our association continues into the RIO2 baselining work, we know it caN and indeed will throw up new challenges. So please do not consider this as farewell note (atleast not yet). Just a small, and probably unconventional, way of saying 'Thanks' to all of you for your support and contribution to the successful completion of the Package Enhancements counting challenge.

Thanks and regards
