Benefits of Online Learning

* 94 Percent of those online stated that they also use the web for schoolwork.

* The search engine Google has done probably done more than anything to alter the study habits across the globe.

* Virtually schooled children develope great social skills, interacting with a broader range of people.

When Naoko Koyasu, a high school student in Tokyo, researched a report on the brain, she did notbrother to slog to the library and cull textbooks. She plugged "cerebrum" and "medulla" into Google " I have been able to access stuff which I would have never encounterif not the Internet" she says.

After seeing how much "dead time" her daughter, Heather endured in a Dever public school, Nancy Romberg enrolled her in one of about a dozen "virtual high school" that have opened in the past five years. Heather, now 20, began working from home via computer, choosing when she did what. Romberg thinks her daughter got more attention interacting with instructors online.
