| The Stuff I grew up as a shy & introverted kid. I had a happy childhood despite not being "Mister Popular", and have lots of great memories. As you can imagine my name made me stand out at school. Eugene instantly made kids assume "nerd", I guess I have a few American sitcoms to thank for establishing that stereotype. In my late teens I made it a personal mission to be outgoing and it took at trip to America to cement this in my mind. I went to the US with my parents to visit our relatives in Texas. Eugene was a common name over there and didn't carry the same stigma as it seemed to in Australia. I made heaps of friends, (well more than I'd ever made before), and I found that the general attitude of Americans was one where anything is possible and if you try hard enough you can make it. The whole experience really opened my eyes toward making the most of life. So from that day on my personality made a complete paradigm shift, and I've never looked back. I try to exist to make other peoples lives better, I can't really see a point of being on this earth for any other reason. I'd like to think that is why we are all here, but it's getting increasingly harder to find people who believe this. Unique? I consider myself to be a joyful mix of contradictions in may ways... On one hand I am a bit of an "Old Soul". I like things that are retro and enjoy things from my parents era. But on the other hand I am a bit of a "Peter Pan", I look young & act young and I like new technology & embrace things of the future. I don't claim to be "macho", even though I am a big guy, but I'm not effeminate either. My male friends say that I'll make someone a great wife [thanks guys!]. I am a gentle person, regardless of my size. Most people expect me to be some kind of tough guy or bully, although I don't throw my weight around. But make no mistake, I'm not a pushover, I'd most certainly knock heads together if ever I or my friends were threatened. I like to plan but I love being spontaneous, I'm insightful but can be impulsive. I'm sentimental but I like looking forward without dwelling on the past. I'm free spirited and love to be amongst heaps of people, but other times I retreat into my shell and just observe. So I'm old & young, past & present, tough & gentle, outward & inward all rolled into one. A hap-hazzard melange of many things. I don't know if this makes me unique, but I guess we all have something about each of us that makes us different.. |

| These are un-edited thoughts, straight out of my head. It is difficult for most people to 'open up', myself included. So if you don't like what you're about to read, I did warn you. |

| Twisted Research >>A cockroach will live for 9 days without it's head, before it starves to death. (Creepy) >>If you yelled for 8 years, 7 months & 6 days, you would have produced enough sound energy to heat a cup of coffee. (Might be better to wack on the kettle me thinks) >>Banging your head against a wall uses 150 calories an hour. (I was wondering why I was losing so much weight at work) >>The strongest muscle in the body is the tongue. ("Stand back, I have a tongue & I'm not afraid to use it!") >>Right-handed people live, on average, 9 years longer than Left-handed people do. (I guess that being a genius must take it out of you) >>Polar Bears are left handed. (They are! I've seen them wiping their bums with right handed seals, haven't you watched National Geographic?) >>The male praying mantis cannot copulate while its head is attached to its body. The female initiates sex by ripping the male's head off. (That should stop one night stands for good. Geez, at least they don't have to commit or pay alimony) >>Butterflies taste with their feet. (Does this mean when they run it's fast food?) |

| Who am I? Well I'm not going to open up my inner-self for all and sundry to read here, but you can see pictures of things that I cherish, read about the types of things that I enjoy and maybe even ponder over some of the quotes that have made an impact on my life. I hope that it paints a reasonable picture about the kind of person I am. I am a deep thinking person, I am always thinking about way too many things at once. Women say that men can only think about one thing at a time, I beg to differ. As you may be able to tell so far I am an "open book", this is not always a good thing. The Basics: I live by myself in what I think is a funky little house with 2 tanks full of tropical fish. I am the eldest son in a wonderful family. My parents are heroes & I would die for them. I am passionate about many things, I love music, both listening & playing, I am a drummer. I was the drummer in a local band called Mustard Seed for 6 years. We remained unsigned and never cut a CD but we had a lot of fun and had a good following of fans at the time. I love to cook food for my friends. I am a bit of an arty type and I like to jazz up the house I live in. I'm a "net nerd", but I like to stay fit and be active, I play volleyball, rollerblade, Ice Skate, and Snow Ski. I currently work for an IT company as an Account Manager/ Sales Rep, which I enjoy, I spend most of my day on the phone talking to clients. I don't have a huge list of friends, but I believe in quality, not quantity, so the friends I do have are worth their weight in gold.
