A New Beginning

The spring, sun was high in the sky as usual in the Savannah Meadow. The Savannah was home to Anklyosaurus and Triceratops and as it was spring there were lots of new faces appearing. All the Triceratops eggs had hatched and only a few of the Anklyosaurus eggs had not hatched. One clutch of eggs that hadnt hatched belonged to a female Anklyosaurus called Anna and her mate Alex. Coelophysis were about and they were hungry! They had already taken a lot of eggs and they were still taking. The males of the herd scared them off and the atmosphere was peaceful.
Annas eggs started to shake and crack. She called for Alex and he came as fast as he could. A little head popped out of one and gave a little moan. Then heads started popping out of each egg until they had all hatched. After a while all the Anklyosaurus eggs had hatched and there were twice as many new faces to be seen. But the peaceful atmosphere was broken with a sudden
shake in the ground!
It was a stampede! Triceratops were being hunted by a Spinosaurus! All the Anklyosaurs quickly started to move away. But they were soon on the move too! The Spinosaurus was looking for the younger dinos as they wouldnt have been easier to catch. Anna and Alex took off with there young and headed away from the stampede into the forest. A few others followed. They finally found a clearing in the forest and settled down some had lost their children and some had lost their partners. It was a sad moment but they had to accept it. Anna checked to see if all her young were there. They werent two out of the eight were missing, Anna nearly ran back to look for them but Alex stopped her. She was devastated. The herd decided to go to the next valley and ask the ocupants there if they could live there.
Alex wasnt happy with the idea, as he was head of Savannah Meadow since his father died and when they settle in the new valley , he wouldnt be the leader. On their way they encountered a lot of attacks from Velociraptors, Herrasaurs and Allosaurs. When they arrived in the new valley less then half of the herd had been killed or died. Anna and Alex survived and three of their young.  The three young Anklyosaurus were the only babies to survive and they were a new beginning for the Anklyosaurus herd.
