Preparations: If your scout plans to attend summer camp,
the a permission slip needs to be completed and returned to an adult leader;
make sure to leave a number at which we can contact you from camp.
Any scout attending Summer Camp must have a valid medical on file.
A medical is valid three (3) years from the date signed by a practicing physician.
If your scout’s medical is still valid, we ask that you sign it and make
note of any new medical updates. In which case, please see an adult
leader so that you can sign the medical form. The above-mentioned
forms, and the balance of the summer camp fee should be turned in at the
meeting on Monday June 10, 2003. Please review your Scouting Handbook
for Parents.

Scout’s Name

Troop 575, Simon Kenton
168 Shawnee Rd
Star Rt. Box 60
Portsmouth OH 45662
Snacks: Snacks, food, and drink should not be brought
to any Scout Camp or to the campsite. Our furry forest friends like
to snack as well. The Dining Hall provides 3 daily and highly nutritious
and delicious meals. Any confiscated snacks will be devoured by the
adult leadership.
Spending Money? There will be a Trading Post at Summer
Camp where scouts can buy craft kits, t-shirts, scouting literature, et
cetera. Also, some merit badge courses will require supplies, which
must be bought at the Trading Post. It is recommended that your scout
bring about $20 (in small bills). Please advise your scout to conserve
these precious resources; adult leaders will not underwrite loans or grants.
Transport: This year for Summer Camp, Troop 575 has the
privilege of using one of the Church Vans. Upon our return, it is
expected that the van will be returned in the same or better condition
than when we found it. Regardless of what vehicle the scout traveled
to or from Summer Camp in, no scout shall be released to his parents until
the van interior is cleaned of mud, candy wrappers, et cetera.
Our Return: We will be returning from camp on July 12
at approximately 1:00 p.m. If we expect to return at a different
time, we will make the proper notifications.
