MEET
THE TEACHER
Hello! My name is Mr. Eric Mialky, and I am the fourth grade teacher at Pickerington Elementary School. I am a graduate from both the University of Scranton (B.S.) and the University of Pittsburgh (M.A. in Education). I am completing my seventh year of teaching, and I feel very fortunate to be teaching at such a wonderful school. I enjoy playing most sports (especially soccer and basketball), reading, and living a healthy life. I am originally from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and I was married to my beautiful wife in 2000. We gave birth to our beautiful daughter, Anna Catherine, on March 19th, 2002. We look forward to the new addition to our family this upcoming October!

RULES
AND POLICIES

All homework is to be completed in its entirety the day that it is due. Failure to turn in homework on time will result in "Study Hall" - where a student will lose one's recess time. Daily assignments, upcoming assessments, and future projects are written on our Classroom's Assignment Pad. Students are expected to copy all assignments into their Assignment Notebook. Students are also expected to be well behaved and courteous in class. A set of classroom rules, formed by Mr. Mialky's class, can be found inside the classroom. Students should follow these rules at all times.
The "Go For the Gold" classroom management system is used daily in the classroom to retain order and discipline. Positive reinforcement is an everyday factor implemented in the classroom to encourage proper behavior. The "Marble System" and "Ticket Awards" are two strategies used to encourage positive behavior.
I strive at all times to communicate clearly with your child and with you about the excellence and achievements that I expect of them. Your child can talk to me at any point during the day, before or after school, with questions and concerns. Parents and guardians should not hesitate to contact me with questions or concerns
