-The benefits of a Red mage is that it can use Shadow and Status magic. So it can attack and protect itself in battle. Also, when a red mage goes through a trance it can pick one Status magic and one Shadow magic spell at the same time.
Disadvantages:
-The big disadvantage a red mage has is that it has a low defense, and is very weak to blizzard attacks.
