The romantic goth is moved by the ideals and morals of the gothic era. This period was full of amazing architecture, beautiful poetry, spectacular clothes, dramatic plays, exquisite furniture and most of all LOVE. Being a goth is about recognizing and praising beauty yet embracing tragedy at the same time.
Beauty and tragedy are both a part of life and life is a wonderous thing. Emotion is what makes us human. It doesn't matter whether we laugh or cry, as long as we feel and give in to our emotions.
The romantic goth will be just as happy listening to Cradle of Filth as they would be listening to Mozart!
They like to wear period costumes with lots of velvet, lace and silk. Of course it's not really clothes that count so don't be surprised to see a romantic goth in blue jeans and a pair of Reebok classics on their feet, it's what's in their hearts that matters.
