I love reading fanfiction. I really, really do. And it's a lot easier than writing my own, thus making it my favourite excuse for procrastination. I've read everything from tear-jerkers to side-splitters. I've come across truly exquisite stories, and some of these talented authors are not very well known. So I've taken it upon myself to list some of my favourites, according to fandom and type. For organizational purposes, I've listed them in alphabetical order of the author's name.

Note: These links lead away from this website. I will post warnings where appropriate, but I will not be held responsible for the actual content of these sites. Also, these fics have been chosen based on my own personal, highly subjective tastes, which is by no means any indication of quality or merit, and doesn't necessarily mean other readers will like them too.

LORD OF THE RINGS

Greenleaf & Imladris Series by Eresse
In my eyes, Eresse does the best Elrohir/Legolas and practically defines the word 'series' (30 long fics!)
Pairing: Elrohir/Legolas, Elladan/OMC, Glorfindel/Erestor| Timeline: Third Age | Rating: NC-17

The 3Qs Series by Gloromeien

Marchwarden Series by Kenaz
Pairing: Haldir/? | Timeline: late Second Age into Third Age | Rating: NC-17

Marchwarden: Son of Guilin
Beautiful prose presenting a very vivid description of the War of the Last Alliance from the perspective of the Elves, as well as life in Lothlorien from the Second to the Third Age. Anyone familiar with Kenaz's style will understand why I absolutely adore this series. Her Haldir must be one of the most well-developed, strongest minor canon characters around. Tissue alert for the ending, though.
Marchwarden: Hidden Hero [WIP]
Sequel to Son of Guilin, our merry band of Galadhrim experience the more familiar events of the Third Age from the relative safety of Lothlorien.

Until the Stars are all Alight by Kenaz
Made me fall totally in love with the minor canon character of Halbarad.

Vanilla Elf series
by Master Erestor
[Alternate Universe and slash]
I generally don't go for AU, but Master Erestor is a genius at convincing one that sometimes canon should just be chucked out the window.

Princes Three series by Minuial Nuwing

Flawed and Fair by Tehta [slash]
Possibly the most original and hilarious depiction of Ecthelion and Ecthelion/Glorfindel ever written. Comes with sing-along ditties.
Pairing: Ecthelion/Glorfindel | Timeline: First Age, Gondolin | Rating: R

QUEER AS FOLK (US)

The Uncertain Hour by Burnitbackwards

Raw by Burnitbackwards

Don't Forget Your Toothbrush by Concernedlilly
A very amusing Season 1 gapfiller, inspired by Debbie's "You let him use your toothbrush?" comment in 116.

A Steal by Darksylvia

Dirty Dance by DeAnna Zankich
Emmett and Ted get an eyeful.

Fellatio Quintet by Eliza
Various visits by Justin to the back room.

Sesto's Aria by Jenn and Jainieg
Ethan visits Babylon.
Ethan-POV but Brian/Justin | Timeline: post-S3, some spoilers from early S4 | Rating: PG-13 for language

Love of his Life by Julad
Brian gets amnesia. Enough said.
Pairing: Brian/Justin | Timeline: post-314 | Rating: NC-17

PDA by Juteux
My favourite Michael-learns-about-the-reunification ficlet.
Michael-POV on Brian/Justin | Timeline: gapfiller between 308 and 309| Rating: PG

Let's Hear it For the Boy! by
"I've been considering for a while letting him top me".
Pairing: Brian/Justin | Timeline: undetermined, but before 210| Rating: NC-17

Humor / Parody

Busy Week on the Fridge by
Not exactly fanfiction- at least, prose fanfiction- but nonetheless one of the funniest pieces I've ever come across.
Pairing: Brian/Justin (non-explicit) | Timeline: Undetermined, but post-109 | Rating: PG-13 for language
