FAQ - FREQUENTLY ASKED
QUESTIONS
Q1. Why should every ICT
Teacher join and support the ICTTN?
The
ICTTN finds its origins in the year 2002, at the very beginning of the ICT Teachers'
training programme. The prime mission of this association is to provide a forum
for debating issues underpinning the basic and specific rights of all ICT
Teachers, and to ensure that our voices are heard by the relevant authorities.
Since
the last two years, the principal objective of the ICTTN has been aimed at
fighting for:
·
The recognition
of the status and the service of ICT teachers
·
The
re-consideration of the nature of our contract and our future as specialist
teachers
Q2. Why ‘UNITE & CONQUER. NOW.’?
ICTTN
believes that ICT Teachers constitute a body with specific needs
and rights. The reasons behind are:-
·
The nature of
our contract
·
The uncertain
destination of this 'ICT teaching journey'
·
The precarious
conditions of employment.
The
appeal is out NOW: Join ICTTN as a unified team and stand up for your rights
NOW. Our contract ends next year and NOW is the time to act.
Q3. Should
ICT Teachers join other teachers' unions or not?
ICTTN
wishes to be an independent and unified body because of the specificity of our
status as listed above in Q2. The majority of ICT teachers have joined the
struggle and the association believes that our strength lies in unity.
At
the same time, ICTTN does not restrict the rights of ICT Teachers in joining
other teachers' unions. All teachers form part of the academic arena and within
the latter, are found different categories of teachers: GP, AL, ICT. We wish to
be one ICT Teachers’ Network, before finding allies and friends in our battle.
Q4. Where can every ICT
Teacher express his views?
The
Internet symbolises the democratic ideal of the freedom of expression. As such,
the Discussion Board of this website has been created for YOU to tell us about
your views & to send us your suggestions.
UNITY IS
STRENGTH.
