Abilities: Her friend from long ago once called it 'A Aspicio
Fides' (a - as pis ee o - f ee des),
to see truth. She is strong of heart,
courageous, and well loved in her land for her compassion
towards weaker
souls. Though she lacks physical strength and experience, Olivia makes up
for it in ample at the end with her skills as a healer of both the mind
and spirit.
Things About Her:
Olivia has a definite disposition. She is likable, though determined. Once
her mind is set,
there is no changing it. She likes to help when needed
and tries her best to keep face.
Though she never shows it, Olivia has
great pride in her family, her home, and herself,
though each of them
seemed to have abandoned her as of late. She wears a gray dress
with a
black cloak and she wears silk skin colored stalking with plain black shoes.
Usually her long hair is pulled back into
a tight bun or braid. She enjoys the company
of others, though she values
her time alone.
History:
Land of Origin: The eastern land of Somnium (Som nee um) Olivia's father,
Liceor,
(Li see or) one of the highest ranking patricius, (pat ris ee us)
nobles, of Somnium, was
well known throughout the eastern boarder. News of
his first born, a gentle girl, spread like a
wild fire around the shores.
Soon, nobles, peasants, priests, and even the prince of
their land came to see the wee
babe. Along with them followed an enchantress, Delose
(Del ose). The
enchantress came to the home, but rather than
setting sight upon the babe,
her vision was directed instead to the father of the new born. As a
gift
to the family, Delose gave Olivia the power to see the truth, even in the
deepest of deceit.
Though with this gift, the enchantress set a curse upon
the mother of the house. Olivia's mother
became ill soon after and died
when the girl was 4 years old. Soon, the father of the house
became
entrapped in the enchantress's wicked web. She and he were married a year
later.
Delose never liked Olivia. She treated her as though she didn't
exist, and had Liceor send
Olivia away much more than once to schools far
off. When Olivia came home for Christmas
vacation, during her eleventh
birthday, she found the enchantress Delose to be a liar. She
had become
tired of Liceor's company and wished to be rid of him. Delose had hatched
a treacherous plot to have Liceor killed in the night. Finding this, Oliva
rushed at once to
tell her father. He was so entrapped in Delose's spell,
however, he did not believe his gentle
daughter. He turned her away and
exiled her from his lands. Soon, Delose used her power
over Liceor to have
him persuade the king to exile Olivia from the farthest reaches of
Somnium. Since then, Olivia has been wondering
over land after land in search of
someone and some way to get her returned
to her home, with her father to her rightful
spot by his side.
Notes: She loves dancing, singing, and riddles to make others
brighten, though at times she can
be too trusting of the wrong people and
untrusting of those who would help her. She tends to hold grudges and to
bottle her feelings when upset. The language of Somnium is closely related
to
Latin, so some of the names I put in will most likely be traceable to
root words.
