Kouyama Mitsuki is the main character of Full Moon wo Sagashite. She's the type of person whoe's very kind and thoughtful and would be willing to do anything for a friend, no matter what the circumstances. However, sometimes shes a bit ironic ^-^;;. She's also one of those people that beleive in second chances, and always beleives theres some good in everyone.
When she was very young, she lived in an orphanage and became very close friends with Sakurai Eichi. A few years later, when she was 10, he told her that he would be leaving soon. She cried and told him she didn't want to leave. He then stuck out his pinkie. He told her that they must promise that the next time they meet each other, They'll be closer to acheiving there dreams. For Mitsuki, a singer, and for him, an astronomer. Before he left, he told her that he loves her. Mitsuki, being very surprised, didn't say anything. It was later that she realized that she loved him to, but it was to late to tell him, as he had already left.
Some time after he left, Mitsuki moved in with her grandmother, her only living relative. Unfortunately for her, her grandmother hated music, and wouldn't allow Mitsuki to have anything to do with music, let alone sing. Mitsuki also developed throat cancer, which doesn't allow her to talk or sing in a very loud voice. But still, she refuses to have surgery done, as she knows her vocal cord will have to be removed and she'll never be able to speak or sing again.
Two years later, when Mitsuki is 12, she passes the firt review to audition to become a singer. However, her doctor doesn't let her go. Depressed, she stays in her a room and thinks about Eichi. At that moment a hand pops out of a calender he gave her. Startled, she backs away as a strangely dressed guy who looks around 16 pulls himself out of the wall. He is followed by a strangely dressed girl. Both have wings, and animal ears and tails. When she asks who they are, they get really surprised that she can see them. They then introduce themselves as the Takuto and Meroko, the Shinigami(Gods of Death in Japanese) team Negi Ramen(Spring Onion Noodles ^-^).
The two accidently let it slip that Mitsuki has only one more year to live. Now she gets even more determined to become a singer so she runs away to the audition and tries to get in from the back door. The shinigami catch up to her and ask why she can't just go in from the front. She says that 12-year-olds cant audition. Then Mitsuki explains that this is really important to her, and if she fails, she'll listen to them and go back home. Takuto feels sorry for her so he gives her a drop of his blood, which allows her to transform into a healthy 16-year-old, but with the same mind and spirit. She then is able to audition and wins!
Now, with the help of Takuto and Meroko, she tries hard to acheive her dream of becoming a hit singer, to one day be reunited again with Eichi.
Appearence
Mitsuki has brown eyes and very long brown hair. She usually ties them into two curly ringlet ponytails on either side, and braids the rest of her hair to put it around her head like a hairband. I personally like her hairstyle, its really cute and unique ^-^. When she first transforms into Full Moon, she has long brown hair, but then decides to dye it blonde. She is usually seen wearing dresses or skirts in light colors.
