Shadow Haven

Dreams Lie
by April Diaz

I gave him a painted kiss
And leaned against him low.
My brow against his chest.
His love to me was slow
And as I lay there feeling
I dreamed within a dream
A house and a patio
Or an apartment in a city.

He move against me softly
His moth came against so hotly
The fire burning between
Love unspoken and unseen
Breathless there in ecstacy
Locked in secret dance
He then shuddered against me
Then the peak of entwined romance

My lashes came to flutter
Soft whispers did he utter
The moon swayed to the night
Of our lover's flight
Then as I woke next morning
All an illusion of the mind
So cruel he came without warning

Why do dreams all lie...
