| Here is where I put the updates on my haunting, or related material. |
| NEW: November 8, 2004 For the last year or so this house has been very calm. I haven't witnessed anything but the most ordinary of instances. The occasional footsteps etc. However, the last month we saw two hurricanes that seemed to have re-awoken some spirits. One seems quite restless, making knocking noises, walking around, opening and closing doors. About two weeks ago I started experiencing something touching my toes or softly poking my side just as I lie down. My cat sleeps on my stomach so it's not him. My husband almost got whacked because I thought maybe he was picking on me, however, when I turned to whack him...he was over on his side of the bed snoring away. It may be coincidence, but around the same time this started I began a medical treatment and was under stress because of it. My mother feels this may be a kind spirit that's trying to comfort me (not being aware that it's anything BUT comforting). I haven't yet decided what to do about this. Any advice from readers is helpful :D ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Today is June 28. Some interesting phenomena. I've seen more of the lights. They are mostly blueish or whitish now. I saw a beam or an orb outside of my house. See Photo Page Seven to view the pics of it. My husband was in the restroom the other day and thought I was talking to the cat outside the door. He comes out and sees that I'm still sleeping. He asked me later if I had been talking to the cat, it wasn't me!! Last night I thought I heard weeping outside. I don't really know, though. It was strange. I've been having some interesting peripheral vision apparitions. To have them isn't unusual; many people do have them. What these are appear to be a small man or boy running through my side vision. It's usually the same figure. It's happened probably four times in the last week and I can be anywhere, at home, outside, at work etc. I did have an odd experience at work the other day. Some women have noticed hearing a person enter the ladies room and no one being there when they leave, or think that a co-worker is in the stall beside them and no one is there. I heard someone say my name loud and clear, yet no one was in either stall beside me. That was a bit un-nerving...I mean, consider where I was LOL!! Also, I have had something touch my face outside the other day. It felt like someone lightly running fingers from my forehead to chin. It is fast and at first I thought it was a spider or something but then it happened two more times. It didn't really bother me. My camera is not working properly. It refuses to take batteries so I have to walk around with an extension cord. Not the best way to be ghost hunting, ya know. I'm looking at getting a new one. I want a good one, so it may be a little while. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- It's April 12, not much has been happening. I think that we've got a house next door that's haunted, too. Most people wouldn't be that surprised: there were two deaths there. Don't get too excited, they were natural old-age deaths. There was a family there, but they abandoned it and now it's up for foreclosure sale. When I've been outside taking photos I've had a feeling of being watched from that house. I walked up to the outside and it's the same corner of the same window every time. I know the woman who'd lived there (the first that passed on) was a busy body, she loved to know what was going on in the neighborhood. I think, perhaps, she still up to her peeping! As for my house, the one ghost that doesn't like me sleeping or taking baths has started up again. For the last three times I slept on the couch (I sleep there just before work, so I am sure I am not too comfortable to get up) I've heard whistling and rolling noises. It only happens just as I'm drifting off and then stops. I just try to ignore it so I can sleep. It's also taken up its old habit of tapping on the door and wall when I'm in the bathtub. I'm used to it I guess: I tell it to leave me be for at least 15 minutes. The only disquieting thing was the fact that this afternoon (have to remember my husband and I work nights...this is our sleeping time) the phone rang, my husband jumped up to get it. I was still lying down when he runs in and tells me "It's five 'o clock" Sure enough, it was. His alarm was shut off, I got up and checked mine. It was shut off, also. Mine was set for an hour before his so it couldn't be me doing them both...very odd, that. It's never happened before in the 11 years we've been together. I've slept through my alarm, got up and shut it off before, too. BUT, I will have a vague memory of having done so. Usually, as if it were part of a dream. I wonder if our prankster was at its tricks? I spoke to it and said, "Maybe it wasn't you...but if it was, then we cannot have the alarms shut off. If we don't go to work we don't have money to keep the house and then you'd have no one to play with." I believe it understood. Well, that's it for now. Bye! ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Today is February 22. I've not had any particularly scary things happening. Thank goodness. I don't mind the ghosts, but that doesn't mean I don't get freaked occasionally. I have had strange lights appearing inside the house. They look almost like mild lightning bolts. They're different colors and move from room to room. I am not sure if I've captured any on film, but check out the new Series Page for what I think might be it. I have had more of the voices happening, however. Sometimes it's been my name, others it's been when I think my husband is speaking to me and he's either asleep or he denies even having said something. In a way I find this kind of cool, I hope I can get them on tape. One time I heard a man and woman speaking to each other as I was walking around outside. Mind you, I take my outside photos at around 3 a.m. and it's a very quiet neighborhood. The voices didn't get any louder as I walked around the house, but didn't lower in volume either. That was really odd. Also, I was never able to understand what they were saying, though at the level they were speaking I should have been able to discern a word here and there. Strange, eh? I conducted an investigation of a friend's apartment. She and her roommate have felt an oddness there, along with one of their friends. I did get some readings and photos. I also felt a presence there. It wasn't a harmful feeling, more like I was aware of something there. Not like it was watching, just sort of "there". When I have the information analyzed and all placed in the computer I will be putting the findings on here. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Hi there! It's January 5, 2001...Welcome to the New Millenium...For real, this time! As far as my ghosts are concerned, not much new has happened. I think they're cold, too! It's about 31 degrees in my house (these old Floridian homes are too expensive to heat...we just spent $10,000 on new windows..ack). I have had the kitty-pressures increasing while I am lying down...so I do believe one of my cats has come home, in spirit. On New Year's Eve I got two really cool pics, one of a bright red orb and one that looks like it's snowing...here in Florida! You can see them on Photo Page Five. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Well, I certainly had an eventful evening/morning. On Wednesday(Dec. 20) I went to bed around 9p.m. or so, waking again at 2 a.m. I had turned on the computer to check e-mail when the rumbling noises started. At first I thought it was a big truck going by outside (we live on the corner of an intersection). Soon, it became apparent it was inside the house, or close outside...too constant and too long for one truck. The best I can describe the noise is when something heavy is rolled across a wooden floor. As with any time I find something odd, out comes the camera and I went around the house snapping photos. Most of the lights were off, except the kitchen and living room, and the Christmas tree lights in the dining room. As I went into the dining room, I snapped a series of photos of the back hall, in front of the back bedroom. At this time, everything appeared normal. I went back to the computer, sat down, heard the noises again. Once again, it sounded as if in the house, nearer the dining room this time. I get up once more and go to take more photos. As I snapped photos down that hall again, I noticed the door to the back bedroom was open. Needless to say, that was a bit upsetting. Did I investigate? not on your life! How was I to know it wasn't a human intruder in there? I turned on all the lights in that part of the house and ignored it. Later, as I was beginning to download the new photos I heard fumbling outside the front door (check the floor plan to see that the computer is just by the front door), I glanced over and saw the doorknob moving slightly. I didn't think anything of it, my first thought was the porch light was off, and my husband was coming home from work trying to get the key in the door in the dark. It seemed as if he was taking a long time, so I said "I'm sorry, hold on a sec" I reached over and unlocked the door and it popped open. I stood up, saw he wasn't there, the truck wasn't in front of the house...I quickly shut the door and locked it. I went into the bathroom and kinda hid out for a while. After a bit I took a bunch of photos, snapped on the porch light and snapped some out there. No, I didn't get anything that I can say in these areas. Later on in the morning, a former friend of my mother's stopped by the house, I spoke to her and gave her my mother's new address. After she left, I heard my husband say "Who was that?' I went into the bedroom (he was sleeping) and told him, "That was just Helen for Mom". He was like, what? what are you talking about? He hadn't asked me anything. I woke him up with the answer to a question he didn't ask. Yes, I think the spirits are restless. It's nerve-wraking when it happens like this, no matter how much I don't mind them being here. I admit though, I wasn't thinking spirits at all...I was thinking of living people, if that were the case, the police would have been called ASAP. ___________________________________________________________________________ These are some older incidents in the house: --The first time I became aware of our ghost was when I had chosen to take a bath, not long after we moved in. At the time my husband was getting up early for work. My mother was living with us and she had said she needed to get some things out of the attic. I went in to take my bath. As I was reading a book, relaxing I noticed that there was alot of noise coming from the attic above me. I thought it was my mother, because of what she had stated before I went in the bathroom. It got louder, sounding as if someone were literally throwing boxes across the attic space, then of scraping and dragging noises. Soon, it was so loud I got quite angry...as my mother knew my husband needed to get up for work early. I sprang out of the tub, threw on a towel and flung open the door, expecting my mother to be right there (the access to the attic was right outside the bathroom door, only accessible by ladder). The first thing my eyes laid on were the form of my mother alright...dead asleep on the couch in the livingroom across the way. Guess what? Wasn't my mom making those noises. You should have seen the look on my face as I gazed up at that open attic access outside the door! --When we first moved to this house we would place a rock in front of the screen door to keep our cats from leaving the porch area (most were not yet fixed; we didn't want any "accidents"). When someone left the house, he or she would just shove the large rock right against the jam of the door, keeping it from being able to be unlatched. After a while all the cats got fixed and were able to go out. There wasn't any need for the rock any more. Yet, mysteriously that rock kept appearing in front of the door. My mother stayed up one night just to see if perhaps a neighborhood child might be placing it there before school or something. No dice, she never caught any one. We kicked the rock off the step and into the brush on the side of the house. One day I was coming home from work, I entered the porch, unlocked the front door, turned to let a cat meowing inside the porch, and BINGO, the rock was back, blocking the door. This was matter of three or four seconds. No time for anyone to have moved that rock from the brush to the door without me seeing or hearing them. Odd, eh? --This next one happened to my husband. As he was still getting up early for work, he went to bed long before my mother or I. As I was watching T.V. I heard him call out my name. His voice sounded rather odd so I got up to see what he wanted. I could hear a strange tapping noise. At the time we were making ceramics and one such item was an incense burner with a round bottom and a large figurine top. There was a few of these on top of the headboard (waterbed). He told me to reach up there and to please remove one particular one. I wondered what this was about, but reached up any way. As my hand touched the burner, I gasped and quickly pulled away. The thing was rocking on its own. Rather quickly rocking back and forth, nothing else on the headboard, or in the room was moving. When my hand touched it, it stopped, and restarted as I pulled away. I told him what I felt. He said, I know, so please take it out of here so I can sleep. Ok...so I got my nerve up and moved the freaky thing. Yeah, this one was creepy. But like all the incidents in this house...harmless. --One night I was alone in the house, trying to go to sleep when I kept hearing noises around the house. I had all the cats on the bed with me, so I knew it wasn't them. At first I didn't think it was the ghost, I just kept getting up and checking windows and doors. The footsteps, bumps, and rolling sounds continued. Finally, after about the 14th time, I stood in the middle of my dining room and said, "Cut it out, I have to get some sleep!" It stopped and I was able to sleep. There are other incidents here, but this is good for starters. Our ghost is not harmful, but rather playful. It likes to pout when you tell it to stop, or to get more rambunctious if you don't pay it any attention. When I get home from work or school it usually will welcome me home with some sort of noise or incident. Point in fact, we'd rather have this one than have one like I have read about on other pages...something we'd not welcome in our home. _____________________________________________________________________ I've been asked to explain a little on what I think my ghosts are. I will try my best with this. First off, I don't believe that my house/property is the only area here that is affected. There's far too many here for that. I've not approached my neighbors. Most people are rather unable to accept, or don't wish to accept, spirits or the paranormal. I have listed each area seperately to help keep track of the spirits (you may check these on the Floor Plan):: The garage--Well, as I and my mother have never felt comfortable here, we feel that this spirit isn't exactly nice. It doesn't feel harmful, just kind of like a nasty "moody" spirit. There's a shed in this same building, but for some reason, the entity is only in the garage. It doesn't ever come forward to the opening, just hangs out in the back corners. Entering the garage is uncomfortable during the daytime and nearly impossible at night. I cannot do it alone; believe me, I have tried to go in alone. The dining room--There are spirits here, they're not very open. I feel that when I get active photos (or hear, smell, sense something) it's not the one that is perpetually within this room. But, I'll get to that later. There is a sense of sadness here, I cannot explain it, but the one/s here come around more when I am playing my soft classical music, or when I am drawing/painting/working on crafts in this room. The back bedroom--I've not got any photos with evidence from this room, it's basically used as a catchall/storeroom. There is one photo on Photo Page Three that has an orb just in front of this door. There has been instances here, though. There's been situations of things being moved or tossed around. What's odd about this is that the room's door is always kept closed, the windows are closed, and generally the incidents happen after someone tells the entities to stop some behavior that's disturbing us (usually when we're trying to sleep). The kitchen--I have a feeling that this is one spirit. It's female in essence, I've caught a hint of perfume (which I don't wear) and will smell food or bread when I've not been cooking. Yes, sometimes it could be my neighbors, but as I work third shift...this means I am up at odd hours, generally no one is cooking at 2 and 3 a.m. I feel she just keeps me company when I am cooking; I love to cook and feel she's happy with that. The middle bedroom--Not much here. I have gotten a few photos in here, but they're so faint I cannot place them here on the site. Right now, this is a weightroom; it contains our personal gym and a few pieces of furniture. The bathroom--I am happy to say that the entities hardly ever come in here. At least one doesn't like it when I spend too much time in here, though. As you may have read above, the one in the attic makes noise when I'm in here. Also, I quit taking baths at night, because every time I got settled there'd be a soft tap on the door. I'd get up and no one was there. It would repeat every so often until I would just give up and get out. The master bedroom--There's one or two in here. Very shy. These will leave if I start talking to them. It's a feeling I get, and the photos will show evidence of their absence (example: the first photo will be just quickly shot, then I speak, shots after won't show any orbs). The living room--These spirits or spirit are rather open, playful. They show up MORE if I talk to them, and seem to hang out near people. I have a feeling one just might be reading over my shoulder right now! The yard--There's too many here to distinguish between them. This is the reason why I feel there must have been a settlement or something in this area. There's nothing I can truly say about these, except they do NOT like being talked to, or have attention paid to them. Check the Example Page for an idea of what I am talking about. Some are not in just one area, I'll list the ones I know (to-date): The one I call the resident double orb. This little fellow is a ham! I can be taking photos, get orbs in the first one, then talk. In some areas the ones will disappear, but the third or fourth photo after the inital first one ... lo and behold, it's the double orb. Sometimes it has a trail after it, as if it hurried to get into the shot. It likes being where I am taking pictures, that is for sure! The tiny one. This is one that will appear often with a larger orb, perhaps they're part of the same spirit, I have no idea. But nearly all the time they appear together. You can find evidence of this in many of the photos. The mischievious one. This is the one we've known from the start. It's the prankster or pranksters (we tend to think of them as single, though it may be more than one). This is the spirit that keeps you up at night, moves things around, and makes noises. It's the one that was rolling my Pokemon yo-yo around the dining room floor on Halloween night. Kept it up, until I put the yo-yo away. And, YES, it pouts. I swear it's so tangible when it's unhappy with us for telling it to behave, stop, or take away its toys. The cats. When we first moved in, I thought there was a cat spirit here. I am a cat person, so it would not be surprising if one did show itself. Most people have just seen a vague greyish/black cat shape dashing about the house. At the time, we did have a few black cats, so sometimes we'd automatically assume it was one of them. Sometimes it may have been, but not always. For instance, the cat shape would dash from one closed door to another. There would be no where for it to go. I've had it dash from the middle bedroom, just as I walked out of my (the master) bedroom. I had stopped stock still, worried I was going to step on a cat, then realize, I had closed the door to my room. I felt the fur, and the cool air rushing, seeming through my legs. There was no place this creature could go. Why it would run like this at me? I have no idea. It's not very big, perhaps a young cat or kitten. Lately, though, I have had a cat bounce onto my bed, then when I look, it's not one of my two cats. There's no cat on the bed. We have a water bed, so it's quite distinctive when they jump up there. I have also felt a cat pressure on my side or legs when I rest on the couch. Why is this significant, because as you might say I've already said there was a cat spirit. Well, it's because it never did anything but dash about. We have had many cats while living here, most disappeared. There were three black ones, all of which are now gone, a grey , and a tabby mix have also disappeared. Although I do hope that they're alive and with families that love them, somehow I feel at least one is not. I feel it's come home to us. In a way this makes me sad. I'd much rather it was alive and happy. But I am somewhat comforted by the thought that my cats feel they have a place to go when they pass on. |
